I know a few of you have heard me babble on about wanting to make a set of armor from scratch. It's something I've never done before but have been doing lots of research on......and continue to research constantly.

Well ladies and gents, it's getting very close to phase 1 of this project which is to build a bodycast!

This process is prolly the most labor intensive because I'll need lots of hands, lol. Joel has graciously accepted himself as our victim....err...I mean MODEL. I will be looking for at least 3 other people who don't mind getting messy and pruned hands, and possibly 1 person to document this process (and future processes.....please get with me if you're into this kind of stuff).

Here is a link to give everyone an idea of what is involved.

    http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/bodycast/index.html
edit: the link feature on this site wasn't working so you'll have to copy/paste it.

While I cannot pay those who help I will totaly feed you Pizza and b33r! I will also remember those who have helped (in this project and future ones) when that time comes where I'm pulling armor molds. ;)

I do not have any date set yet due to the fact that this will prolly be done outside in my small backyard (I wish I had a garage!!!!), and the weather is still questionable. I would have never guessed we would get 10" of snow last weekend!

So, if you think you might be interested just post here. If there are certain days that definitly can or can't work for you, please post here as well.....that way we can get an idea of what we have to work with.

Any other questions, comments, concerns feel free to PM me or even call my cell# 804.380.4740 In case you forgot, my name is Prescott :)

Why make your own armor? If for cost reasons, you will spend thousands more than if you bought your own.

This project, if done right, will hopefully go well beyond a personal set of armor. Will the set-up costs be expensive? Yes. Will there be a lot of trial and error? Yes. Will I someday be able to fulfill the needs of those who are in the market for new armor? Yes.

    Will this be fun? Yes!

Most definitely! The more people who get to enjoy seeing Joel suffer, the better. :)

Just FYI....I'm waiting for the weather to warm up before doing this. Seems every weekend is raining, plus it needs to be kinds warm or else our "model" will suffer from hypothermia with all those wet bandages covering his spandexed body. :D
