Who was MARA JADE'S Mother & Father???

Hey everyone...
I have wondered this for the longest time... is it known who Mara Jade's mother and father are? I am very curious. If it's unknown, then I go with Obi-Wan and Sabe being the parents *giggle* but that's just me =P anybody have some insight?!

It might be the wrong forum, I just arrived, but anyway, I dunno. Twould be funny if SHE was Lukes sister, too...

It has never been officially revealed who Mara Jade's parents are (in fact, very little is known at all in her backstory), but Timothy Zahn has been quoted as "throwing the idea" around, especially with the idea of giving the honor to a different author.


In terms of speculation, I for one have been working on an extensive piece of Fan Fiction since AOTC came out (yes, I've been working on it this entire time, simply because I've referenced and cross-referenced everything to fit with canon and hopefully get a more highly-regard response ), chronicling Razor Belkon Jade and his wife Bianca Jade during the Clone Wars, including the eventual birth of Mara, the death of her parents, and her beginning training with Palpatine.



But it terms of official EU, the answer is unknown.

I'm certain it's an adopted alias! But I wish I knew more about Mara Jade and her young years.

Nope, noone knows who her parents were...it is an unfathomable mystery!! There IS the strong possibility that one or both of them were Jedi.

Jade may be an alias Palpy gave her.

Actually, in the writer's Resource forum a friend of mine has created a poll for a fanfic she's writing.

ADN there are a thousand idea out there. Correlian Jedi, one Jedi-one not, Obi-wan and blank, oh yeah thousands.

 

Palpatine and one of his concubines. It suits her, to be the daughter of a courtesan.

 

Palpatine! Yikes.

 

Yeah...that woud be interesting. It's concervable. Before the prequel, I thought Palps always looked like he did in RotJ, but he actually looked...normal. So, who knows? Heh heh, and Luke felt bad about HIS lineage.

LOVE this question. I'm actually almost done writing my answer to it! I'm a firm believer in Obi-Wan being Mara's father and I've used my own RP chracter as her mom. You can read more here .

It's a good story! Promise! It even covers Han's parantage and how he ended up an orphan, not to mention the Skywalker family's lives are entangled there as well ^_-

(Folks generally use subtlety when plugging their FanFic. )

There's innumerable possibilities. I'll bet that a book uncovering Mara's past will be released around the time EIII comes out. Hardback. Probably Zahn, or a similarly accomplished Star Wars author.

I hope they don't tie it into the Skywalker saga. There's already too many coincidences in the GFFA.

 

I hope Zahn covers this in his upcoming Luke+Mara trilogy (or is it a duelogy? I've forgotten)...

 

Better be Zahn! As her creator, he desearves that. That and none of the profic writers can write her very well.

Rumors having been going around for a long time about a book like that, but I doubt them still. I like Mara's past to be shrouded in mystery, so many posiblites to play with.

Heck, my new RRfic has Mara with an older brother.

Ah, one of the famous EU debates.

Personally, I have no clue who her parents are. And, barring Zahn going into Mrs. jade Skywalker's past in his upcoming owrk, I don't think we'll ever now. Admittedly a bit vexing, but a mystery I can live with.

Now one I can't live with is why Greedo shoot first...

 

I'd rather her parents NOT be Jedi-maybe just one Force sensitive parent, or something.

I'm tired of all these Uber Jedi.
