Who was the best Jedi of the old EU? I have to say I love the "rogue" Jedi, like Qui-gon Jinn and Zayne Carrick. Wolf Sazen was cool too. I think they truly embodied the best ideals of the Jedi Order.. compassionate, going where the Force took them, even if they went against the hierarchy and had their own personal flaws. They were alive. Luke was mishandled most of the time, I think. Obi-wan was too orthodox and traditional, a model PT-era Jedi but still shared many of their flaws, as did Yoda and Mace.
I'm going to have to say Qui-Gon, even if he's technically in the new canon as well. (come at me ulicus)
They're cool, but not Jedi. Also, K'kruhk, possessor of one of the three sentient hats. (The others being Adi Gallia/Stass Allie's tentacle hat and Dave Filoni's cowboy hat, obviously.)
Legacy #0 called them "fully trained Jedi," and I've never been fond of splitting the hair that makes them not just schismatic Jedi.
Jacen Solo One of the best Jedi swordsmen of his era, and Hero of the Vong War. Ulic Qel-Droma Fallen Jedi hero, and ultimately found redemption by turning against Exar Kun Ben Kenobi Mentor of Luke, and Veteran of the Clone wars
Zayne Carrick - he may lack the skills, but he's "more Jedi than Jedi" where it counts Master Zao - A Zatoichi in Star Wars done right K'Kruhk Tholme Kerra Holt
Meetra Surik The Exile. Or Zayne Carrick. To be clear, I think Qui-Gon is awesome and a great deal of what he says is totally on point. "Your focus determines your reality" is probably one of my favourite lines in the entire saga for how relevant it is to the mythos as a whole: (What's a duck dark side!?) He wasn't, however, written as an example of the perfect Jedi (especially since he was basically created out of the "young and reckless Obi-Wan" character that Yoda described in TESB) and the fact he's retroactively become that is kind of funny. Though, I don't understand why Qui-Gon is relevant to this thread at all because he's not EU.
Yeah I gotta go with the three Jedi in Traitor (I guess technically all three Solo children are in it in some form, but I'm obviously only counting Jacen). Since apparently Coleman Trebor isn't EU.
