Who was the decoy for padme at the begging of star wars episode II its sad that she died though

 

The decoy character was Corde. She was played by Veronica Segura.

No, Cordé was a decoy. A handmaiden, trained to protect the Queen, or Senator

 

I never really understood why she claimed, with her dying breath, to have "failed the Senator." I mean, she saved Padme's life, right?
