OK, this si a thread for all those people who want to know "Would _____ win against a Yuuzhan Vong Warrior?"

    My Candidates are:
Jango Fett: Jango, he's got the Skill
Boba Fett: Yuuzhan Vong, he may be a clone, but he's not as smart as Jango
Darth Vader: Vader, no explanation needed
Darth Maul: Maul, no explanation needed
Da**** Palpatine: Palpatine, he's got the force lightning
Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus: Yuuzhan Vong Warrior, in Episode II he was horrible
Dark Trooper I: Yuuzhan Vong, stupid droid
Dark Trooper II: Yuuzhan Vong, unless the droids have jet packs
    Dark Trooper III: Super Trooper!
Jar Jar Binks: ... why did I put this one here?
Ewoks: Ewoks, those little furry monsters...

Now Leaving the Galaxy Far, Far Away

Alien's Alien: Alien, hands down. Acid blood raining if it died...
Predator's Predator: Even Match, I'd say Predator cause it can cloak.
Halo's Master Chief: Yuuzhan Vong would kill him
Halo's Covenant Elite: Yuuzhan Vong, he's got skill

    your opinions? picks?

First of all, on these Blank vs. Blank kind of things, we have to define conditions. For example, one could say that Boba Fett could beat an Yuuzhan Vong warrior if he had his Slave I.

So I'll say this: The people are carrying what weapons/armor they usually carry, and the Yuuzhan Vong warrior is Shok Choka with vonduun crab armor, a coufee, a pack of thud bugs, and an amphistaff.

    My Candidates are:
Jango Fett: Jango, he's got the Skill

Yeah, if he has the jet pack. If not, he may have to outrun the Vong. Plus, he'd have to shoot thud bugs out of the air.

Boba Fett: Yuuzhan Vong, he may be a clone, but he's not as smart as Jango

Same as above. I'd say that Boba is, more or less, Jango's equal. And his rocket launchers would wipe out the Vong with one shot.

Darth Vader: Vader, no explanation needed

Darth Maul: Maul, no explanation needed

Da**** Palpatine: Palpatine, he's got the force lightning

    Yeah, I suppose.

Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus: Yuuzhan Vong Warrior, in Episode II he was horrible

    Are you joking me?

Dark Trooper I: Yuuzhan Vong, stupid droid

Dark Trooper II: Yuuzhan Vong, unless the droids have jet packs

    Dark Trooper III: Super Trooper!

Uh, don't know bout this one.

Jar Jar Binks: ... why did I put this one here?

Ewoks: Ewoks, those little furry monsters...

    Shok Choka, no competition.

    No idea for these.

    Ok, how bout these competitions?

Shok Choka vs. James Bond: Bond's got the stealth factor going for him. It'd take awhile, but I'd say that Bond can nail him (assuming he's got LOTS of bullets to punch through that crab armor).

Shok Choka vs. a rancor in Jabba's pen: I'd say rancor. The thud bugs wouldn't punch that thick hide, and amphistaff venom works too slowly for Choka to keep from being rancor chow.

Shok Choka vs. Neo: Neo might take down Shok Choka with his mucho mucho machine guns, but if they get in close range all that kung fu won't do much good once Choka gets his amphistaff wrapped around Neo's leg (and the venom pumping).

James Bond would still make passes---or go the whole way---at a Vong woman. When pointed out to him that she's mutilated, scarred and into pain-pleasure recreational leisure, he'd probably say back to you:

    "Hey, she's still a female, isn't she?"

Count Dooku is a duelist not really a swordfighter like the rest of the Jedi,he would challenge and easily kill several warriors and would be a good opponent for someone like Khalee Lah or Shok Choka,Supreme Overlord Shimrra is also a great warrior.

The Predators would be find it rather easy to slaughter Yuuzhan Vong while cloaked but once the Fire Breathers showed up they be in trouble, the Independance Day aliens would be unstoppable against the Yuuzhan Vong Worldships and Corral Skippers because their shields can only be taken by a computer virus and can withstand any fleet assault so once the great doors open above the worldship and fire its time for the Blessed Release from the curse of life and the burden of pain.

The CloneTrooper Army from AOTC would be tough to defeat as well, but the yuuzhan vong could probably lure the majority of their army onto a planet and bring down its moon and take it out along with themselves.

Mateo: The Independence Day aliens had particle shields. Not ray shields. Energy could slip right through their shields without a problem, as we see when Will Smith uses the captured fighter on some of the other alien fighters.

Also, I'd love to see shields of any kind stand up to a black hole.

    Vong all the way.

I think Warlord Ken needs to get out more! :p You've seriously never heard of Sigourney Weaver's Aliens?

I'd love to see then handle themselves inside an egg room! maybe Overlord Shimrra could score a facehugger on his face! Only I'm not sure what would appear when his chestburster hatched through his armoured chest? I read somewhere once about an Alien vs Predator novel where predators were overcome by alien fracehuggers and then there were some totally ruthless Alien/Predator cross creature! Now THAT would give the Vong a run for their money!

How about the Genestealers from Space Hulk? I think they'd do pretty well against the Vong. All they have to do is 'infect' the warriors and then any children they have will start to turn into Genestealers. Okay, they you the New Republic survivors must then kill all the Genestealers, but it would rid them of YV.

The Dark Troopers are from Dark Forces, Kyle Katarn's original game.

Maybe if we rounded up all the Orcs and such from Mordor, then maybe Frodo, Aragorn and company would be much less hindered in their quest! Well, I felt I had to try!

Anyway,I'm off now to think of something else to fight the Vong with!

uh, ok, yah, the guy who first posted in this thread would be right.

All the pople must have what they normally have, their Armor etc. No Ships n Such.

And I didn't think Dooku was too good.

We're only talking about YV warriors here, but if we're gonna go off-topic I would agree that the ID4 aliens would not stand a chance.

Indiana Jones? Perhaps with a bit of divine intervention...

Nah. The only ranged weapon he has is an old revolver, and he doesn't have gadgets or the volition to duck and hide as Bond would. And once he gets into close range he's dead.

I think Warlord Ken needs to get out more! You've seriously never heard of Sigourney Weaver's Aliens?

I totally agree, and no. :)

Maybe if we rounded up all the Orcs and such from Mordor, then maybe Frodo, Aragorn and company would be much less hindered in their quest! Well, I felt I had to try!

The whole gang from LotR rely on bows, arrows, axes, swords, etc. I doubt that they would stand a chance against thud/razor/blast bugs. And in close range swords and axes probably would have a hard time puncturing crab armor since even lightsabers can barely do it. Considering that amphistaffs are very flexible and versatile (they can curl and straighten), well, let's just say that Gimli would have a hard time keeping track of how many of the enemy he's killed...

Or how about we toss in the Zerg? That would be fun to see.

    Or better yet, the Protoss.

I've always wondered about that - after all, the Vong is like a combination of both races. They have the organic weaponry of the Zerg, and some elements of the swarm-like feature (i.e. Chazrach and slave troops), and they have the religious zeal and the high-quality features of the Protoss.

The problem with comparing them is that in the game everything is undearmed so that things don't get too messy in gameplay. For example, the "massive" Terran Battlecruiser have 1 laser cannon and 1 Yamato cannon, which is quite pitiful when you consider that a small corvette probably has more firepower than that. The gigantic Protoss carriers have only 8 starfighters - while a small Quasar Fire cruiser-carrier like the Flurry and Thurse carry 20.

If we compare a Vong warrior with a Zerg warrior (say, a Hydralisk) than I'm sure the Vong warrior would win. Maybe the same can be said for a Protosss Zealot too, but Zealots are tougher and if they have Leg Enhancements that would nullify any range advantage the Vong might have. I'd say a draw.

    What about Jackie Chan?

No contest here. I doubt that any human can defeat a Vong in melee combat, esp. if the human is unarmed. Even if he has knives or nunchunks or whatever Jackie Chan carries, he'd have a hard time. First he has to flip and somersault past the barrage of thud bugs, then have to use fists and swords against vonduun crab armor....meanwhile the Vong will probably stand there with an amused look on his face before cleaving Jackie skull to clavicle with his amphistaff.

    Palpy vs. scarheads?

    Scarheads all the way.

Palpatine's only true fighting powers came from the dark side, notably force lightening. Dark sorcery (or any sort of Force tricks) don't work on vong, as we see in Traitor, when Jacen tries to attack the vong with force lightening but only manages to hurt vergere. The vong would be on top of palpatine before he could kick up his telekinesis or a force storm, and thats the end of that emperor.

(The contradiction to this arguement comes in Star by Star, when the Dathomiri Nightsister and Jaina both use force lightening or another spell to dispatch the Vong, but I belive that the number of other NJO books which argue against this are enough to blot out the events of Star by Star)

    Dooku vs. Vong warrior

Dooku, until his back gives out, and then he's a goner.

    Zerg vs. Vong

I'd like to see this one. Probably Zerg in the long run, but they would have some trouble at the beginning.

Going by the uses of Force lightning actually working, Palpatine would make mincemeat out of any individual Yuuzhan Vong. Without Force lightning working, he'd still make mincemeat out of them:

Yuuzhan Vong warrior steps into throne room, has his amphistaff out. "I'm going to kill you, Palpy!"

Palpatine pulls one of his maniacal cackles, then says "Sure, come here... oh wait, you're dead!"

The Yuuzhan Vong warrior notices that there is no oxygen around his head and suffocates.

I'd say the Zerg vs Vong would be a fairly even fight, but that depends on which strain of Zerg you're using. A Zergling would be amusing to see, but only as comic relief. A Hydralisk would be more evenly matched, since needle spines do dissolve armor. An Ultralisk would step on the Vong warrior or slice him in half.

The Protoss in single combat would tear the Vong to pieces. Keep in mind an average protoss is 3 meters tall, or for those of you using the Imperial system, something around 10 feet tall. And their psi-blades are the equivalent of mind-powered lightsabers. It's like Lord Nyax, minus the corniness.

The Last Starfighter was a stupid movie, imo, but lesse... the only real thing i remember about taht ship was its spin/shoot thingie... i forgot what it shot, but im pretty sure that the Vong would outnumber them, and with their shields, probably none of them would die...

Oh, and Goku would kick arse against the vong... Just plain and simple. Hed bust out a 'distructo-disk', one of Krillin's ingenuative creations, and slice through the entire Vong Army without even a scratch... Hed just have to put a Field of energy around him to block every thing they shoot at him and hed be invincible.

Everyone forgets the hero factor, anytime someone is a hero or power of good or the franchise is named after him/her, the hero wins by default. For instance Indiana Jones has gone up against evil gods with powers stronger than him(infernal machine is one example), and has still won, generally because he always finds some artifact that gives him an advantage in some deus ex machina way. So if Indiana Jones went up against a vong, he would have some kind of power or intervention to give him help, because he has the hero factor, because he is the main character of his franchise.

This is generally why characters in action-hero movies survive normal odds that normal humans would have died from, because they are protected because they are the hero. This is why the rebels won in the movies even though they were overwelmed with superior weapons.

Forget the hero effect. Take in the character's attributes, luck, skill, weaponry and the sort, and pit the two together and who would win.

Indiana Jones runs and hides when he knows he is outclassed. If you read enough of the indiana jones EU you would know this stuff. So he never fights something that outclasses him unless he has some kind of sucker punch to even the odds. That is part of his attributes, and what makes his up his hero factor. If he knew he couldn't win he wouldn't get involved in the fight, beyond that the guy has a very high luck quotient.
