Why are gothic chicks so hot?

Because by their nature they attempt to 'never judge a book by its cover' and so guys like us might have a chance of at least a conversation with them.

Seriously though, you have a point, it's quite remarkable how pretty that look can be. Though I doubt many goths would be pleased I find them cute and want to give them a hug.

I've been wondering the same thing. Some of them are very attractive.

 

Maybe it's because goths don't often take a soundbyte from a random teen show and apply it to everyone that we find them attractive?

 

But some of them are outright freakish, too.

 

Some people are just freakish. Every facet of society will have particularly odd people within them. So what?

 

I try not to look at goth chicks that way...you never know when it could be a dude.

It's just as much stereotyping to say "gothic chicks are hot" as to say "goths are freaky"

 

Who said anything about stereotyping? The question is a positive observation about a kind of people, and as usual it has to be spun around to viciously attack them, just because it's cool to make fun of goths. "Goths are freaky" and "they might be MEN!" has nothing to do with the question, and is just mean-spirited.

If goth girls wanted you to find them sexy, they would wear bellyshirts, dye their hair blonde and flirt with you. Since they don't, they presumably don't want you to find them "hot", so it's just as likely they're offended that somebody started a thread calling them "hot" as "freaky".

Observations are not stereotypes, their what you SEE. The author obviously has noticed that lots of the gothic girls he sees are attractive, so wondered why there's such a high proportion and if anyone else noticed the same thing. Comments about their sexuality, personality or whether they "suck" or not has no relevance, and is again just vicious for the sake of it.

And I was merely observing that most goth guys wear lots of make up, and since most goths of both gender wear baggy clothes and most of the time a big trench coat, they tend to look the same.

 

In most philosophies you have no right to hurt others. That's generally the basis of this funky concept unknown around here, called 'morality'.

But morality is a choice. Speech is a right, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, because it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights.

I think it falls under free speech, but you're right, it's overrated really.

And somebody else noticed that a lot of gothic girls he sees are freaky or look like men, though it is equally unfair to say "goths look like men" or "gothic chicks are hot". On that vein, of the few goths I have had the pleasure of knowing, I am quite certain the author would get his ass kicked if he referred to them as "chicks".

Alternatively, you would be up in arms if I noticed that a lot of the Jews I see are unattractive, and started a thread called "Why are Jews so ugly?" even though it is simply as you say, that I have noticed some Jews walking downtown, thought to myself they were ugly, and wanted to share these feelings on a messageboard.
