What I don't get is why Dooku doesn't sense two hundred Jedi coming to the arena. Why?
But what I mostly don't get is why Dooku could not have sensed Mace Windu walking behind him? Surely being a Sith Lord would make his Jedi senses stronger and it would alarm him that a Jedi was behind him.

Did he actually know that Mace Windu was coming? Or was he hiding it?

I'd say that Dooku was plenty aware of the Jedi coming. He does have a smirk on his face after Windu ignites his lightsaber at Jango's throat. Part of Sidious's plan requires the Jedi to get involved, Mace strolls up, they just got involved, one point of the Sith's plans just got fulfilled. I'd say Dooku was quite pleased the Jedi showed up.

i agree with KosmicKnine... if you look at Dooku's face, he doesnt really look shocked when all the jedi show up.. he doesnt even really see them as a threat because (as we see) there are too few of them to defeat the droid army

The core of this argument is the very same as modern warfare concerning stealth and radar technology.

Modern fighter jets such as the A-117 are not "invisible" to radar. They are stealthy because they minimize their radar shadow such that a regular scan will probably dismiss it.

And let's not forget about jamming technology . . .

My point here is that, yes, Dooku can sense other Force users IF those users are not purposely trying to hide themselves. Consider Palpatine and Yoda - the very same question applies - why didn't Yoda "sense" Palpatine?

Also consider the scene in ESB, during the dual with Vader and Luke. Luke walks into a corridor, apprehensively. Suddenly, Vader's 'sabre slashes downward and Luke narrowly escapes. I'm sure that Luke was "actively" trying to feel out Vader. How did Vader "hide".

Thus I submit that the Force is like a light bulb - even though it is "on", it can be "covered".

That's how Dooku didn't "feel" all of the Jedi in the arena.

And if he didn't sense them, he certainly had some epic foresight in arranging those hundreds of thousands of troops to be ready at about the same time as the executions.

All part of the plan. Although I imagine Dooku might have been pleasently surprised that Mace Windu himself turned up as well.

Dooku and Sidious premeditated the Battle of Geonosis, and the Clone Wars. Once the Jedi reach the arena on Geonosis, I'm certain a Jedi/Sith as powerful as Count Dooku could sense a powerful presence like Mace Windu.

Why do people think Jedi can sense things? If you say cause Luke senses Vader that's only because it's his father and they have a connection.

    You have to remember....

"The Darkside clouds everything." and when Yoda said everything....he meant EVERYTHING. Sure...the Sith uses it but it also clouds their own vision. Dooku couldn't sense the Jedi...but wasn't really surprised when they should up, Palp couldn't sense Anankin blowing up the command ship, or Luke going with the away team to endor, or Vader killing him, etc.

    The Darkside clouds EVERYTHING.

Dooku probably did sense it, but you know war, and it was basically a big distraction so then Dooku could get away. He did smile as Mace had the lightsaber by Jango.

The Destroyer Droid captured Obi-Wan Kenobi while he was in the middle of a Holonet broadcast,im fairly certain that the droid told the Genosians about the broadcast or it had regular Battle Droids nearby that saw the broadcast that told someone about it, then as if this wasnt enough they capture Senator Padme and Anakin Skywalker inside of the Droid factory and during the their interrorgation she demands that they all be freed including Obi-Wan, the Genosians might be Termite like insects but they arent Retards,im fairly certain that if they didnt already know about obi-wans earlier broadcast that they would have figured out that he made a broadcast before being captured because theres no way padme and anakin would have known he was captured if they didnt see it in the same broadcast.

And knowing this Dooku and Poggle the Lesser and everyone else there would certantly know that Anakin and Padme would have Retransmitted the broadcast to Coruscant or at the very least called the Jedi and the Senate up and told them before they left that they were going rescue obi-wan, Dooku didnt know when but its obvious that he and Poggle prepared themselves for this because they had over a Thousand Battle Droids ready to storm the Areana at the first sign of a Jedi rescue, they probably also had satalites in orbit that detected the Jedi Starfighters and warned the Geonosians in the War Room on Geonosis.

He wasnt't surprised. Why did he have thousands of droids lined up to fight them then? He senced everything going on in the arena. He could sence that Mace Windu was coming, that's why he was smiling when he saw him.

But what I mostly don't get is why Dooku could not have sensed Mace Windu walking behind him?

Count Dooku seemed more amused than surprised when Mace and Co. revealed their presence. He was expecting them.

Or how about ROTJ when Luke hid in the Emperor's throne room. From what I can tell, he was not only concealing his force "aura," he was also somehow physically concealing himself as well as changing the direction from which his voice was being projected. If you notice, when he finally attacks Vader, he was in a location where Vader should have been able to easily see him but was unable to, most likely because Luke was using the force to hide himself, yet even though Vader was actively looking for him, he didn't know where he was.

He knew they were coming, he just didn't know when. Plus the Geonosian communications had been knocked out when the army arrived, but then again the droids were there ready for them.
