Why did Decipher have their franchise with Lucasfilm get taken away? I doesn't make any sense.

I have every single Decipher Customizable Card Game card of Luke,Vader,Leia, Han, Chewie, C-3P0, R2, all the ships, Boba Fett etc. I have about 6,000 cards. I have boughten at least 7 booster boxes. I really liked those cards. But on December 31st, 2001, all the cards I liked were permanently cancelled. I really didn't like this. I also really didn't and don't like Wizards of the Coast's version. I don't like the no weapon concept, bright stupid colors like purple etc. I hate it.

I wanted to now a straight answer as to WHY the franchise was given to Wizards of the Coast.

P.S. I know this is older news, but I have been wondering about this for almost 2 years.

Also, I know their are TCG fans out there, but I think the Decipher version is still best.

This has been debated to death really. Check the header for some info on what happened. As to why, no one here really knows.
