PT Why did they change Anakin's actor for episode II?

    I've always found it very hard to suspend my belief and feel like Anakin from Episode II is the same character as Anakin from episode I because the two actors used to portray him look so different. Especially seeing as how often it is that we see him in scenes with Padme, which kept the same actress in all 3 films. Why did they change Anakin's actor but not Padme's? For me it makes it feel like episode 2 and 3 are in their own separate continuity or something.

    They needed Anakin to jump 10 years in approximately 2 years, maybe 1 and a half.
