here is some examples, darth vader, general weir *as seen in rise of the sith*, aurra sing, asajj ventress to name a few. i mean if we are being honest, jedi robes are not really that flattering. the necromongers had some kickass threads too. any thoughts?

It's not just in Star Wars. This theme is common in movies/TV these days, and there really is no solid reason why IMO.

    1. Bad guys in media aimed at the young need to be eye candy for kids to get them interested in them, think of it, it would make for a few fights in the yard if EVERYONE wanted to be the good guy, this is why comic book villains are designed this way, to stand out.

    2. most villains are obsessed with appareanence and are egotistical, they dress to match their personality.

    3. it's always been that way: since film began bad guys, villains look cool and scary, it's the art of film making
