Why do my video programmes keep crashing?

It happens in movie maker and colourful movie editor trial. In colourful movie editor, it happens every 5 minutes or so. A window comes up and says "colourful movie editor trial has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconveniance. This also happens in Movie Maker when I import a clip and preview it, the same thing comes up: "Movie maker has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvienience"... SORRY ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!

Why is this happening so often and how can i prevent it?

BTW: it doesn't happen in AE

 

Check your system. Make sure it has enough resources (RAM).

 

Might also be a limitation of the demo version (closing every 5 minutes). Or it could be your video card depending on what you're doing.

Just a few thoughts.

 

No I'm pretty sure that Movie Maker is just crap.

It's good for a free program, but it's crap in general.

After MM I switched over to Pinnacle, which is crap also, but at least doesn't crash every few minutes.


Ok, that's not true. Pinnacle isn't that bad. It works and it's pretty cheap. It ain't no Premiere, though...
