Why does the Pepsi at Taco Bell always taste off?

It makes me choose elsewhere for meals. I want tacos but I think "But the Pepsi isn't good" So I go somewhere else. Seriously there are about 5-6 local taco Bells where the Pepsi taste weird. It has an odd fruit taste to it. Not very good.

 

Step 1: buy the tacos
Step 2: stop at 7-11 to buy a Pepsi
Step 3: go home
Step 4: eat food, drink Pepsi and enjoy

Problem solved!

 

I think it has to do with that ghastly syrup mixture they use. Too much syrup and
not enough carbonated water makes sweet, 'fuity' tasting cola. A friend owns about
a dozen of those franchises; that's how he explains it.

Of course he's completely mad...

 

7-11 don't exist in SC

 

The same thing can be said about the Dr. Pepper at Subway. [face_blech]

 

On the other hand, I have noticed that the Coke at McDonald's usually has quite a bit more carbonation than in any other fast-food chain...

 

Your friend owns Taco Bells? Can he get me a job? I've been unemployed for a year.

Maybe they're willing to work for much less than you'd be willing to?

As for the Pepsi issue, I seem to remember Cherry Pepsi tastes OK at Taco Bell. But maybe it's just at my local Taco Bell.

Everything at Taco Bell tastes "off" because it's not food.

 

Burger King Sprite is the best Sprite there is. I could go into Burger King just for Sprite because for some reason Burger King Sprite is different from any other Sprite.

 

Their fire sauce is pretty good though.

 

Because that new baja Mountain Dew is kickass.

 

I disagree with all of you. The Crunchwrap Supreme is...well, supreme.

And why not just order a different soda?

 

Indeed. To the second. Not to the first. The Crunchwrap Supreme....tapdances on my stomache....it's not fun.....



But anyways......Truth be told, Taco Bell's Sierra Mist is much better than SM from a can or a bottle.

I have to agree with this. Usually Saturday afternoons I get my Taco Bell 'Fix' and one time I decided to get a big Mountain Dew to go with it.

I took one sip and spit it out. There was some type of 'cleaner' bleach type taste to it. I asked the manager to taste it and she agreed something was wrong.

I got the drink knocked off the bill and stopped off for a six pack of Bud Light on the way home. MUCH better choice!

 

For the same reason that the food tastes off. Taco Bell should be closed down.

 

Maybe the employees get to pee in the soda machine. In which case I want to work there even more.

 

Jack in the Box's Dr. Pepper is nasty.

No, it's because they don't clean the drink dispenser tubes often enough, if at all.

My local Taco Bell has decent-tasting Cherry Pepsi. That's what I get to go with my enchirito and 7-layer burritos.
