When Luke first meets Yoda on Dagobah Yoda goes through his food and Luke tells him to get out of there because he's going to need it then he smells what looks like a muesli bar and then throws it away?

    What's up with that......

Now for me to be a jerk and point out something in the OT that bothers me, why is there a sight on the DL-44 blaster? I never saw Han or Luke put it upto their eye

Luke is cranky when he gets to Dagobah. He wasn't expecting a swamp planet, and he certainly wasn't expecting to crash his X-wing into a swamp. Then to make things worse this little shrimp dude shows up and invites himself into Luke's camp goes through his things and eats his food without being invited. Plus Yoda mocks him because he "cannot get your ship out." I am not saying Luke was right to be a jerk, but he certainly had reason.

As far as your question, Luke throws the food because Yoda took a bite out of it. If a strange creature took a bite out of your food would you go and eat it? I certainly wouldn't.

The answer to your last question, the sight on the DL-44 is mainly a motion sensor. As far as why they have it, I dont really know. The blaster was outlawed for a reason. Maybe this is why.

Yoda is testing him, he's testing his patience. He's testing his disposition in general. That's why he first shows himself as a meek and sort of pesty type.

I know. And he failed. You can see Yoda's disappointment when Luke gets frustrated.

But with his ship seemingly trapped and having a limited food source you'd think he'd just break off the bit Yoda took a bite out of and tuck right in....Bear Grylls would not be impressed

Luke had a blaster and a lightsaber. If he ran out of food he could always take out one of the mynocks and eat that. Although, he really wasn't thinking rationally at that moment.

.....and I suppose it did emphasis the fact that Luke had little patience in situations he couldn't control.

I thought Luke handled Yoda rather well. Maybe not up to a Jedi's standard, but much better than I would have. I would have drop kicked Yoda into the swamp.

Well, he was grumpy mostly because of X-Wing was stuck in the swamp and Yoda was stealing his food and light thing

Yoda was messing with him in a purposeful manner, so Luke responded in a typical grumpy fashion.

Of course, the last thing he expected was a three-foot tall Jedi Master. Obviously he was expecting more, because the Jedi mystique didn't quite seem to fit Yoda's profile at first glance.

Which seems to be Yoda's point from the beginning. The ability to control the force is based off of perception. Luke perceived that the X-wing was too big, or that Yoda was too small to be a Jedi Master. Vader also understood this idea of perception. "The destructive power of this station is insignificant next to the power of the force."
