Obi Wan Kenobi gripped the side of the speeder as it tilted crazily. Anakin was in perfect control he knew that...but still the tightness in his stomach and the dark memories contradicted him.
Anakim swerved violently and Obi Wan tried to stiffle a gasp, it seemed so much like before....

flashback
"Sere listen to me!" fourteen year old Obi Wan Kenobi yelled as his friend jumped into a speeder, she fought with the controls for a minute which gave Obi Wan time to jump into the passanger seat and buckle his seat belt.
"Sere" he tried again but the girl ignored him, tears ran down her face and sobs hitched in her throat
"Leave me alone" Obi Wan tried not to recoil as he caught the smell of alchol on her breath.
Sere fiercely grabbed the controls and the small speeder darted off into the vast lines of Courascant. Obi Wan desperatly tried to get his barings but Sere's driving made it almost impossible she had almost no control and instead of slowing she accelerated Obi Wan felt damp fear grip him, they were going to crash if he didn't do something but Sere wouldn't let the controls go and Obi Wan knew that if he tried to wrench them away they ran the risk of crashing but if he did nothing......

Obi Wan glanced at his padawan Anakin wa sin control but he could hear Sere's laughter in his ears still

"Sere listen to me! Listen to me!" Obi Wan yelled into the wind "I know your hurting but this is NOT the way do you hear me?"
It was too late Sere wrenched the controls once and lost all control Obi Wan closed his eyes.

Obi Wan didn't get much sleep that night, he wasn't supposed to since he was protecting Senator Amidala.
He couldn't blame Anakin for his actions Obi Wan had never mentioned the crash, his two years of rehabiliatation the whispers that he would never walk again.

Bant Eerin threaded her way through the crowded hospital. Her eyes narrowed as she saw Sere sitting huddled beneath a blanket, without preliminaries she said
"You told them it was his fault. You told them Obi Wan was driving" Bant clenched her fists usually she was gentle but this girl was the cause of Obi Wan's coma.
The girl nodded "I couldn't tell them it was me, you have to understand my parents would kill me"
"They know" Bant said, indicating the police that were near
"Did you tell them?" There was faint aminosity in the other girls tone and Bant resisted the urge to put her in her place
"They knew already, there was blood on the passanger side but not on the drivers, Obi Wan has a head wound and you're barely scratched of course they figured it out"

"Master?"
Obi Wan opened his eyes, seeing his padawan kneeling beside him, Obi Wan braced himself for another long monolouge of Senator Amidala's attributes but Anakin seemed serious.
"Master about the chase..."
"It's nothing Ani"
Anakin shook her head, not satisfied "Master I'm sorry, I didn't realize how disturbed you were"
it was obvious from Anakin's tone that he wanted to know why he was so disturbed.
"A long time ago I was in a speeder crash and for a long time people thought that I may not walk again, that is why I don't like flying."
It was obvious that the padawan wasn't happy with this vague knowledge.
"Will you ever tell me Master?"
Obi Wan was surprised when he nodded "Yes Anakin one day I'll tell you"

I enjoyed reading this.

Coincidently I was watching A New Hope on the TV tonight and I noticed something new during the scene where the Falcon takes off from Mos Eisley. As Luke and Obi-Wan are sitting down, Obi-Wan opens his mouth to say something, but it cuts to another shot so you don?t hear what. I was trying to imagine what he was going say. Maybe something along the lines of ?I hate flying?.

Anyway, sorry to ramble.

Good little story.
