    Think about it.

These are the ingredients which make up this equation:

    * Andowyne is the home of Willow. A different planet altogether to Earth and located in some galaxy out there in some space and time.

    * There are all kinds of odd creatures on this planet.

    * A kind of magic exists on this planet which has a lot in common with the Force in that some are gifted with it and there are good and bad aspects to it.

    * Many of the characters and themes of mythology are similar to Star Wars.

    * THE MUSIC was written by John Williams and the MAIN THEME from Willow is an OBVIOUS LIFT from a movement of the Star Wars music. To me this final point shows that George Lucas may have indeed once or may secretely continue to think of Willow as perhaps a backwater backstory, related to Star Wars at least and part of its Universe.

For example, the events on Andowyn in Willow could have occured long after the Star Wars civilisation had died down... or even very early in the Star Wars timeline.... or perhaps even concurrent with the major events. Who knows? Maybe this is even a load of crap what I am saying! But hearing those two John Williams themes side by side, there definately feels like a link and also in other parts of the Willow score. Maybe George instructed John to make it sound Star-Wars ish or related? Who knows!

It's a pretty good fantasy movie staring Warwick Davis ( Wicket ) and Vall Kilmar.

    ---------------------------------------
If we're talkin possible tie in's with other sci-fi fantasy in other galaxies, that have odd similarities in theme, magic and or or phisical features. you can make similar claims about
    The Dark Crystal
    E.T. ( there are 3 in ATOC )
    Farscape

Oh I can just see it now.

"I am a Jedi, like my father before me."--Luke

"So be it...Jedi. If you will not be turned you will be...turned into a PIG! Ha! You're a pig! A little pig!"--Palps

    "FATHER! OINK! PLEASE! OINK!"--Luke-pig

When I saw that update, I was shocked. I couldn't believe my eyes. Willow part of Star Wars? No way.

After couple of hours I heard that it was a April fool's joke. I was so relieved that I started laughing at myself how stupid I was. :p

Here is the link, if someone is interested.

    Music was by James Horner.

By your reasoning, Krull should be part of Star Wars -- plus it had Liam Neesom.

I think it is a bit much to say it takes place in GFFA. However, the movie is stylistically much like a SW movie.

Agreed. It's a planet that could be part of the SW galaxy.

Agreed. But there are also too many earth creatures (pigs, tigers, birds etc.) that makes just another reason why it should not be part of the SW galaxy.

The magic has nothing in common with the Force, quite the opposite. The magic in Willow does stuff like turning people into pigs and physically morphing into other creatures. The Force in SW does not work like that.

    I agree. :)

The music was written by James Horner.

The way I see it Willow is a separate story set in a separate universe that has nothing whatsoever to do with Star Wars. And it is no reason why it should either. Not everything that Lucas makes has to take place within the same universe. What will be next? That THX-1138 is also part of the SW galaxy? It would even be more likely than Willow...

    :)

Hmmm...TXH-1138 as part of the Star Wars Universe.

"Buy more. Buy more now. Be Happy."

Naw, impossible. Nothing whatsoever to do with Star Wars.

I agree. There is simply no reason why non-SW stuff made by Lucas should have anything to do with SW at all.

Hmm. Sounds kind of like the Ewok films to me. [face_dancing]
