Why would you want to buy underwear from Goodwill?

Today,I went into Goodwill with my brother and sister,and when I was looking around,I saw a rack in the women's clothing section containing bras,slips,and panties. Then the thought hit me: Why would you want to buy underwear from Goodwill,underwear that somebody else probably wore,when you could buy new and unused underwear at someplace like Wal-Mart for as much as they're selling? It just makes me wonder. Nobody could be that hard up in life that a place like Goodwill is their only source for underclothes.

 

Some people are. I mean, everyone has their reasons.

But that's kinda weird. And a little like, icky.

It's clearly another sign of the inevitable Apocalypse.

 

I look for quality skidmarks when I go shopping for used underwear. It gives them a little more personality, you know?

I always found it interesting that people always have to wear underwear to try on bathing suits, but not underwear itself. I got extremely squiggy about buying wedding lingerie at VS for that reason and ended up with a tank top and capri pajama pants.

 

Now that you mention it...I've seen a female JCer try on a bra at some lingerie store I forget the name of...you're right, that is gross; no guy would just go to the fitting rooms with some briefs and ask if he can try them on. What the hell is wrong with females?

 

Why does one need to try on underwear? I just buy the same size every time.

Wedding lingerie I can sort of understand but regular underwear I'll buy and then just wash before wearing.

You buy an wear underwear from the Goodwill for nostalgia ressons.

 

A lot of things Goodwill sells are donated from stores like Target, or smaller stores, who overstock, go out of business, etc. Or they are slightly irregular. I'm sure there are some "pre-owned" ones in there, but whenever I go to Goodwill to look for books/computer parts a lot of the clothing is never worn.

 

I buy condoms from goodwill.

 

I don't try on underwear. Bras, yes, but bras are not even close to being nasty like underoos are.


I say underoos because the word "p-a-n-t-i-e-s" causes me to involuntarily ram a pencil into my ear.

 

I was just saying earlier today that I would not buy underwear or bathing suits from Goodwill. (It's not like something I say every day, it just happened to come up.)

And regarding trying on underwear, I think you are supposed to keep wearing underwear while you try on underwear (meaning panties). I always have and I hope everyone else did too. But I don't think bras are that big a deal, unless you're really sweaty or something. Trying on a bra straight is really no worse than trying on a dress or shirt without a bra on, which I at least do all the time seeing as I don't regularly wear a bra.

And as far as washing things before wearing them, I might do this from places like Goodwill, but as far as normal stores it just goes in the "what you don't know won't hurt you" category of my brain and I don't worry about it. They get washed after I've worn them the first time anyway, like anything else.

EDIT: Usually I don't try on underwear/panties. But I did once or twice a few years ago, always with my own underwear on underneath.

Yeah you just don't try on underwear without underwear on. I don't try on underwear at all but usually just buy a pair and see if those style and size fit, then buy more if they do.

Bras, on the other hand, I think obviously have to be tried on without a bra on. And it's not a big deal. No more than a guy trying on a shirt without a bra on It's not like hygenically there's a difference, unless the woman in nursing.

Having said all this... Goodwill underwear or bras = ick.

If you haven't seen Arrested Development, you've made a huge mistake.

 

Buy the underwear in plastic packaging, that way you know its safe. Criminy, people.
