i think he should. he could be a powerful asset in the final battle against abeloth. he's a combination of revan, the exile, anakin, yoda and luke.

I don't think so, it would be really hard to work him in.

If Force Unleashed 3 is never made, they'd have to explain why he sat out the war and the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

Considering Galen is an active member...heck, founder...of the Rebel Alliance, and Luke is the only Jedi in it later....

Nah, he and his friends are going to have to die.

    Again.

He pretty much has to be long dead or at least disappeared by this point I would have thought, else it is pretty tough to explain why he took no part in anything from the battles of the rebels in the OT all the way through NJO, DN, LotF and FotJ. To have him just pop up all of a sudden, this incredibly powerful Jedi, founding member of the Rebel Alliance, etc, just wouldn't make sense that he has never been mentioned before now.

I suppose you could say the same of K'Kruhk, who also lay in wait all that time and only rejoined the Order later, but no, please, just leave Galen Marek in TFU, that's quite enough :p

Would he even want to be part of the NJO? I'm sure that the moment the war against the Empire was over, or when the Emperor and Vader died, Rhett would want to just run off with Juno to someplace quiet.

You think he cares about anything or anyone that isn't Juno?

Hopefully he and his friends were murdered by Vader a long time before NJO.

I'd like him to go into exile at the end of the TFU series. And, unlike Obi-Wan and pretty much every exile we know of, I would like him to stay there. To me, that seems like the best ending for him.

I hope not. Bringing back old Jedi really annoys me, as it makes me wonder where the heck they were when Luke was struggling so hard to rebuild the Order. I can almost understand them hiding while Palpatine was still around, but once he died and it became well-known that there was another Jedi around, they should have at least OFFERED to help him while he was searching high and low for new students and any kind of information he could find about the Jedi Order.

And that is just one of the reasons why I will be so annoyed if Ahsoka Tano is revealed to survive the Clone Wars/ROTS/live action series/whatever.

It gets even worse. Two-thirds of the Jedi leadership in Legacy is PREQUEL ERA JEDI. Who don't show up in conjunction with the New Jedi Order UNTIL the Legacy era, when Luke's already dead and gone.

I hope not. Some of the other "exiled" jedi folk explanations I can deal with but this wouldn't work for me. I'm still trying to deal with Mandalorians being made into the mushy mess that they've become.

I somehow doubt it, but I get the feeling that there's enough of an opening in EU for The Force Unleashed III to be made, and that story might bring his story to an end.

I see no problems with keeping Juno Eclipse in the Rebellion, perhaps as a commander of one of the roving battlegroups the Rebellion has going. Clone and Kota ought to not make it though. Maarek maybe protecting the Rebels during Vader's escape/rescue, and I like the idea that Kota is on Alderaan as an advisor/bodyguard to Bail later in the war, and dies with the planet.

Someone mentioned this earlier in another thread, but if Maarek survives, he should become the mayor of Sernpidal :p

I wouldnt even let him go that far. Better to have him in exile or visiting the Carida System when young Kyp goes for his joyride.

TFU II just came out. I'm only partway through the game so far but I now know from your title alone that he survives. Is there really any reason this couldn't have gone in the spoiler filled main thread? It's stickied for a reason.

Don't jump to conclusions. He didn't actually survive TFUI and yet there he is in TFUII.

I hope not. Galen Marek is an awful character, and TFU is an awful franchise, so lets keep it confined as much as possible within its feces-strewn corner of Star Wars canon.

Why are you obsessed with him? He's overrated.

How is he anything like Yoda? Or Revan? Or the Exile? Or the Skywalkers?

...and he's not going to be in FOTJ.

Agreed. TFU makes all the hullabaloo about the New Jedi Order seem utterly trivial. Haden Blackman should never be allowed near a licensed Star Wars product ever again.

Please, no, no. That's a horrible idea. Although most things TFU-related are pretty stupid too. Someone like Marek/Starkiller/Gary Stu kind of makes Luke's whole role and thus his NJO kind of redundant. The only good thing about TFU was that he was dead... and as the many TFU 2 trailers show, even that doesn't slow him down much (I'll leave the specifics for later, since the game is still sorta new).

Who needs someone like Luke when you have someone who can already fight the Emperor? It makes Obi-wan and Yoda's whole plan to raise Luke to fight Vader and the Emperor pointless. Heck, when Luke can barely swing a lightsaber around you have this guy, and his Jedi Master mentor, running around hurling AT vehicles, beating up Vader and founding the Rebel Alliance (since apparently the Senators aren't brave or competent enough to do it on their own, despite the last twenty years of stories implying they did).

Having random prequel-era Jedi scattered around the galaxy is one thing, as they're still in hiding and will eventually hook up with Luke's NJO. Starkiller is already there, already doing a ridiculous amount of things, so having him in post-RotJ stories would just make things worse, since he's more powerful than most Luke Skywalker appearances we ever get. Although the current novels are already pretty bad, but Luke's already badly portrayed most times anyway, adding an overpowered video character wouldn't help in any way.

Hope needs to die for there to be a need for A New Hope to come along.

I've no problem, though, if Juno gets pregnant and they have a child that's retconned into an early student at the Praxeum.

    But Galen himself? No.
