Well for LOTR/The Hobbit Afictionados whom prefer the Thugs and Forces of Mordor - here's one on one of their Top Commanders - none-other than the Witch King of Angmar Once a Great King, Then the Power of a Ring, Like Death on a Wing, Only Evil would Sing, A Fouled Thing, Only Darkness Brings… For greed, Suppressed my need, I paid no heed, To once great deeds, No Mercy pleads, For Evil feeds, My very greed, The Dark Lord decreed, We would lead, Mordor’s armies in his steed… The Black Speech, We would preach, Alas we would reach, Our evil screech, For mere mortals beseech, We cease the Black Speech, But no avail, Only Fear prevails! From the Second Age, We delivered the Dark Lord’s Rage, Against any who dare Engage, For no Ancient Adage, From the oldest Tome’s Page, Describe the Terror, That we would deliver, For our foes sliver, The brave cower in Terror ... For mortal we are no longer, With the One Ring we grow stronger, From Angmar I had conquered, Lands for Mordor, From Arnor to Gondor… I led the very Nine, Yet we were not Divine, For we do not Shine, Undead beyond Time, Our screeches chill your spine, None dare draw a line, Against the very Nine… Alas! The Dark Lord defeated, We had retreated, For the Last Alliance, In Defiance, The One Ring Lost, A Dark Cost, The Bitter Frost… Yet the Dark Lord returned, We too reformed, Raised Concerns, The Necromancer Stormed, Goodness Scorned … Centuries passed, The Darkness lasts… An army we gathered, Blood they slather, Orcs, Trolls and Wicked Beings, To us the Nazgul Sing… Our forms cloaked, Mortals choked, As if smoke, Will and good we broke, Like a deadly stroke, The very moment we spoke, Like poisoned oak, Foes only croaked… Unseen we are, By many afar, For only the One Ring, Showed us once as Kings, For to the Mortal, We are but Immortal, Shadow our Portal, Many we could startle … From steeds we strode, To Fellbeasts we rode, Fear our Ally, Victims we tally, Mortals dally, For Mordor we rally… Alas, we very Nine, Destruction we dine, Slaughter so sublime, Victory so Fine! Only Darkness would Shine… For now, But not how, Minas Morgul I prowl, I plot, I scheme, my wicked dream, Alas, Power gleams, For it seems, That Mordor shall leam… For I yield, The Sword of Terror, The Death Bearer, The Wicked Carer, In the bloody field, Destruction my shield… A Morgul Blade I wield, For those shant yield… For the Ring-bearer reeled, When I stabbed him afield, That wound shant healed, For his fate sealed… Yet when I screeched, Many would beseeched, For goodness was breached, Beyond hope’s reach…. Alas, where I was once a King, Enslaved to a Ring, I was given Wings, Only the Wicked would Dream, Corrupted Beings, Do Terrible Things, Only Fear I Sing, Death and Terror, Where I, The Witchking Shall Bring I ruin your dreams Alas, the Ringwraith Sings…
Wow! That was wonderfully chilling and haunting, and it wonderfully fit your subject! You had a great flow and rhythm of words the whole way through - each verse completely led me into the next. In short, I very much enjoyed reading his one! On a Mod note, I wanted to ask you to put [LoTR] or [Lord of The Rings] before your title in the header, that way people can sort through the stories easier. The same with your other poem, too. Thank-you, and welcome to our corner of the boards! It's wonderful to see a new face.
Hello again! For kindly reading my poem and commenting and recommending what I should do in the future - may I ask - do you have a particular poem topic be it SW in particular that you are after or request? Its the least I can do
I love this! I'll echo Mira in that it's very chilling. I'm rather fascinated by the Witch-King, so I had a great time reading it!
Hello again! Its been almost a month since I visited - let alone commented on this thread! Hmm - anything new or a new poem or topic you request?
