Working on x-mass eve day/ x-mass day ******** thread

Come on in and ***** about anything you want to about working today or tomorrow.

Stupid contract crap. Gov't workers have off and I have to work. I feel as though my tax money is being misshandled.

I want to kick my two computer monitors out my 10th floor window.

 

I had to work as well today.

But then again, We only start celebrating x-mas the 25th and 26th. So we're off those two days.

 

I don't go back to work until Jan 2nd.

 

I'm off today only cause I worked the weekend. I work a normal shift tomorrow, but thems the breaks for working in a hospital. We can't close.

 

I'm here but only for another half hour. I rolled late, took a long lunch to get a haircut and have pretty much been online the rest of the time.
This is why they should just give us the day off.

 

Maulfly and I have to work tonight; she works 5-10:30, I work 3:30-midnight. We both work in the same building so which is worse, having to work longer than the Mrs. or having to stick around doing nothing for 90 min waiting for hubby to get off of work.



Heh, I said "get off". Does that get me on the naughty list?

 

I just got off (hahahahahaha) work, but I'm not really doing anything until tomorrow so it's more money for me, I say.

 

Mm...shift done. No work 'til Wednesday.

 

I'm working the evening shift at work today (x-mas day, 3pm-midnight). I don't mind - the store is closed, so no customers and I can the shop ready to go for boxing day. It also got me out of working the Sunday and Monday (X-mas eve), so I still kept my 5 day week - the other managers had to work either day or both.

 

Pfffft.... I'm only working until 10pm and my Mom is able to take me home. So who's worse off now?

 

I'm a government worker. Not only do I have off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I also have off New Years Eve and New Years Day. Paid.

You know, I had to work today, but I can't complain for the following reasons:

1) It was a half day, and I think I get paid for the full day.

2) It was an early payday for me.

3) My boss brought in a gallon of eggnog. It smelled like bourbon.

4) I had some kick ass Korean BBQ for lunch.

5) And another thing which would immediately open me up to jeers if I were to mention it.


So yeah, good day!

 

Nope. Tons of leftovers in the fridge from an early Christmas dinner with the family. We won't be needing to cook for at least a couple of days.

Same here. Just came back from my sister's. Have my lunch for work tomorrow all set and still more than enough for supper as well.

 

Working 13 hour shifts tonight, tomorrow night and Wednesday night. At this rate, I won't get to open my presents till Thursday.

 

I'm working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. I get paid time-and-a-half for all of them except New Year's Eve (not a government holiday). I also get three floating holidays (extra vacation days) that I can use later on.

 

Getting ready for work this morning, just a bit rough. Sister could have offered a couple less Christmas toasts last night.

 

Just got home from an 11 hour shift, hooray, and I get to work another one tomorrow... er today that is.

Although I really can't complain I do get time and a half plus all my friends went back home for Christmas anyways, which gives me ample video game time.

 

I worked yesterday, but we closed early and I slacked a lot. It was fun.

 

Not all of us "Government workers" are off.

 

I had to work Christmas Eve. I got to leave an hour early though.

 

Work was okay. We even got a free meal. How nice of them to tell us in advance. Guess my leftovers will last.

 

I had to work Xmas Eve. Day before too. We literally had four jobs in the lab on Sunday. Xmas Eve we had between 15 and 20.

Seriously? Who randomly walks in and says, I'm gonna get a pair of new glasses on Christmas Eve.

(I'm not counting the old man who lost his glasses, and the lady who lost her sunglasses).


It was weird.
