Would you name your children after EU characters?

I've seen many people named after characters from movies, TV shows, books, etc. The most recent one I've seen is a friend of mine who named his son, Corran Booster Hollar.

What say you?

I've always wanted to name my (as yet unborn) daughter Mara.

Now before people jump on me about that, I've liked that name since long before ever hearing of Mara Jade.

What names from the EU would you like to name your kids, or would you rather spare your kids the embarrassment of being called Corran, Mirax, Piggy, etc.?

 

assuming I ever had children (which would not at all be a good asumption) I would most definately name them after EU characters...
I hate common names... look, it's Jaina!

I'm considering Czulkang for my first born (male or female)....

 

Kyp would be okay.

The rest are just crazy! The birth certificate people would look at you weird.

I wouldn't name my kid after a Star Wars character.

I've always been attatched to the name Jonas, though, ever since reading The Giver when I was younger.

 

I like the name Tahiri. I also like Jacen ( I knew a kid named Jace once), Anakin, and (not surprisingly) Atuarre.

Though I doubt I'll marry anyone generous enough to let me name a girl ofter a Trianii


There was one other I liked, but it escapes me...

 

Reminds me of a joke I heard once.

"I have two kids, Luke and Ben. Named after Star Wars. Don't groan, it was myt wifes idea! I wanted Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin"






Seriously, I would never do an obvious one. Calling a kid Ben or Luke, sure. But I wouldnt call the kid Kyp or something.

Now MIDDLE names, maybe. Again though, nothing too silly. I dont want a kid to be called Ben Wedge or something


Or worse, Wedge as the first name, Eddie as the middle name. Then he'd be Wedge E

 

Ysanne maybe and poss Mara.

 

I'd seriously consider Anja for a middle name. It doesn't sound half bad. And Natalie is probably my top choice for a first name, following in with the whole SW thing.

Unfortunately, after discovering that we couldn't agree on any names, I told my boyfriend that he could name the girls and I'd name the boys. So we're going to have sons named things like Neil and Noah and daughters named things like Tiesto and Ferry Corsten. Yes, if you understood that joke then you must be a club kid.

Well, My Fiance and I have 2 SW names in our list of names for kids. Het wer both our ideas, but ihad to reign kim in a little.

Boys:
Logan (wolverine, X-Men)
Lucas (duh, George Lucas)

Girls:
Jaina (my fav)
Kaede (Japanese for maple)

Me wants Mara, as much as I like MJS, I just don'tl ikethe name that much.

 

Iella is a good one, IMO.
I actually know someone named Kip, so a variation in spelling wouldn't be too much.

 

I actually think Jacen and Jaina are really good names.
I would love those, along with Corran and Mirax. Keiran would be good too.

 

I wanna name a kid (if it's a girl) Tahiri. I think it's pretty.

And if it's a boy, Gavin because of SW and because of Gavin Rossdale. I love Gavin Rossdale.

Mirax, Mara wouldn't be bad. Or Jag.

 

I must argue. Never name your kid Jag, or else he'll be bothered for the rest of his life by "Hey, like the TV show, JAG!"

My father still bothers me about that show, and I don't even talk SW around him.

ReaperFett, actually, I wanted to name my daughters Lujayne and Inyri. My fiance said they'd be scarred for life. I tend to disagree. Most people probably wouldn't know that the names are from Star Wars.

IF I ever have any kids these are the two names I'd use:

Boy = Gilad Pellaeon
Girl = Ysanne Isard (As soon as I figure out how to pronounce it right)

And thats if the some-day-wife will let me and if she is a fan I'll definately have to make sure she's an Imperial fan.

I will NOT have my kids named after any rebels!

 

I would pick a SW name that sounded right with my last name, like Jacen (my brothers middle name but with a c) or Ben.

I would like to name my some Gavin George, so his initials would be G cubed.
