Info about them here and here.

This has got to be one of the most WTF movie promotions ever. A dozen couples getting married in a Krull-themed wedding, as part of a contest by the studio, before the film even came out, and bombed?

    Ouch.

Were any of them me and Kate?

I had the misfortune of seeing this film when I was young. Thankfully, my folks didn't pay for it as my dad received passes for it from the Columbia Pictures office in his office building. I remember they were handing out free balloons, soft drinks, hot dogs, and popcorn at the preview too. Despite all of that, the film still sucked terribly and remains the butt of jokes in my family to this day.

Although the glaive was pretty cool, it was that film's only redeeming feature aside from Liam Neeson's brief appearance.

I bet they didn't really do the fire thing. Also, Krull is awesome. An unknown Liam Neeson, the teacher from Willy Wonka, that's an all star cast!

    Amazing.

Did they also have the Krull video game out to play:

Possibly, but I honestly have no idea as I was 5 years old when it came out and all I really remember was the free food and the craptastic movie that is still the butt of jokes in my family.

"It?s difficult to describe just how bad this film is. There is something essentially off about it."

    Writes movingarts.com.

Oh please. Krull is as much a part of my childhood as Tron, Neverending Story, The Last Starfighter, Dreamscape, the list goes on.

It's not a "bad" film by any means. If by "bad" the writer means it had good production values, was filmed beautifully, was well-acted, had a rich musical score and some meh, ok special effects then yeah I guess the writer is correct.

And there's absolutely nothing "essentially off" about it. If that's the case then every movie besides the Star Wars movies are "essentially off" for this writer. =/

"Whatever the reason, this is a film that even most film nerds cannot love."

I don't know what film nerds the writer knows by if you're even close to being considered a film nerd(whatever that is) then you probably like Krull.

"...imagine you had one of the Glaives from ?Krull.? That is not cool. It will never be cool."

Really moron? This writer is so sure of himself he instantly fails out of the gate but it's not until you reach towards the end with this confident statement that the true depth or lack thereof is amplified.

Yep, good thing it wasn't such a cult-nerd thing that they didn't include it in Arcanum as an easter-egg and your reward for choosing something as stupid as Throwing Mastery.

    Oh, wait...

Krull could do with an update but the original is timeless. The scene when the glaive is unveiled...epic.

Also, the fire mares...c'mon, those are sweet.

The greatest follow-up to "Krull" is the film "Gentlemen Broncos." It's got the same cyclops in it...several times over.

It's not a plot that survives much thought, with a structure like a disaster movie grafted onto a fantasy tale. But it has some good character actors in it -- one not mentioned was a young Robbie Coltrane -- and the Glaive (which isn't actually a glaive, but whatever) was and is cool.

No, he'd been mentioned twice already, not counting quotes.

From what I remember, Krull was originally going to have dragons in it. Unfortunately for them the movie Dragonslayer came out and did a fairly decent job depicting a dragon. So rather than try and top it, they axed the dragons.

To be honest the music score for Krull was excellent, the actors were pretty good, and even some of the dialogue exchanges were rather epic. It just suffered from its budget (especially during the opening battle) and felt like it was missing something towards the end. A better name might not have hurt it either.
