I don't have a working copy of the game anymore (deteriorated floppy disks), but I am looking for a this document.

It was Rebel propaganda and entitled a Call To Reason which I'm told is readable somewhere in the game. Can anyone get me a copy or screenshot of the full text?

I had the DOS X-Wing floppies and never recalled seeing this. However, I will ask around. I know of other gamers who were around when the original X-Wing was out and they might have an idea about it.

Does This help at all? It's the only online copy that i can find.

Believe it or not, i still actually HAVE my copy of "The Farlander Papers" that came with X-Wing (i still have the box and the disks, too. Wonder if they're still playable?)..If that doesn't help you, then pm me, and i can probably find a way to actually scan the thing for you.

The Farlander Papers was the game manual. It was written from the perspective of Keyan Farlander, a new pilot for the Alliance, and told of his experiences. I believe the pamphlet was included as part of it (Mothma gave it to him at a Rebellion gathering).

Cool that you still have it all. Wish I kept after my stuff that well. Interesting thing about what I was looking for is what is said about Alderaan in that pamphlet vs. what the popular opinion is about the planet - "peaceful and harmless". Teehee!

I bought the old versions of X-Wing and Tie Fighter off e-bay just for the Farlander Papers and Stele Chronicles. They are cool little novelas about the main characters of the game. The stories continue in the original strat. guides. Kind of sucks though because they don't include the expansions. I'm not sure if the updated 95 guide had the story in it with the expansions or not. Any know the answer to that question?

It's pretty cool to play and read the story as it unfolds.

..ha, and of course X-wing fans all over the galaxy let out a little 'yay' when Farlander turned up as a General at the end of the New Jedi Order novels :p

I've always been tempted to pick up the strategy guides, because i'd heard there was more Farlander/Stele, but i'd also sworn to myself to NEVER pick up a Strategy Guide... :p

I got a kick out of Farlander being mentioned. You should try to find the original strat. guides. They read just like a novel. Even the walk through is part of the story as after mission briefings given by the characters.

aaaaw, this brings back memories... oh, the nights I've wasted on my old 486 with X-wing as my companion... sadly I only had the pirate version, and my dog ate the floppys few years ago (I'm NOT kidding), I still wake up screaming "NOOOO Max, video games are NOT your chew toy"...
well.. anyone have idea where I could get the original game now?

I'm sure you can find the X-Wind bundles they did a few years back somewhere if you just want the games. If you are after the original with the farlander papers try e-bay. Just fair wanring to any that take my suggestion and look for the originals with the books make sure it's included with the auction. Trust me it will save a lot of grief.

The stories appeared in the original strategy guides as well as those for the CD collected versions of X-Wing and TIE - which also covered the expansions.

Was this story part of the Farlander Papers, or a separate item in the game box?

Thanks so I should pick trhe CD version strat. guide up. And yes the Papers Basicly took you from Keyan's recruitment through his first mission which is basicly reharshed in the strat guide. There's maybe a few pages left out.
