XWA sound effect upgrade

There are many additional/replacement OPTs (ship models) for X-Wing Alliance out there, but not many sound mods. I'm pleased to report that a sound effect upgrade is now available here. Note: Link is not a direct link to the file, and the site is in Spanish, but look for Greg Logan's "X-Wing Alliance Sound Effects Upgrade Pack".

 

What's the difference between "Internal Sound Pack," "Audio Upgrade," and "External Sound Upgrade"?

The files you mention are older, separate files, while the one I reported on is a newer, complete package. If you want me to get technical, the "Internal" pack is comprised of engine hums, confirmation beeps, and warning tones...the kind of stuff you'd hear in the cockpit. The "External" ones are stuff like the familiar TIE Fighter roar that you would hear outside the cockpit (forget that space is a vacuum for a moment...this is Star Wars. hehehehe). If the "Audio Upgrade" refers to Wes Janson's file, it is an older file, also. Greg Logan's new pack (though I haven't asked him) is probably recorded at a higher bitrate w/ today's sound hardware in mind.
