Niagara, ON *** YJN Meeting *** this weekend (July 26/27th)

There are a few items that need to be discussed, so at Chris's urging I'm posting this notice.

Topics to be discussed:

Darien Lake Trip
Grape & Wine Festival Parade
Women's Place fundraising event

This is not the final agenda. If there is something you want to discuss, let us know.

Also the time and place are flexible. I am going to suggest Montebello Park on Sunday afternoon.

Is Saturday better? How about Burgoyne Woods as the location?

We need your suggestion.

 

One other discussion item I remembered.

In the Hamilton Forum there is a thread about the screening of a fanfilm at Silver City Ancaster. It takes place on 30 July. Perhaps a few of us can go up.

Also in regards to the meeting: once we get the date/time/place settled (lets say by Wednesday) can we issue the notice to those members in our mailing list?

I know there are some people signed up on our website that may not be registered here.

This will be a great chance to meet!

 

Regretably I will be home this weekend so I will be absent.

However, if someone could give me details regarding the Darian Lake trip that would be great.

 

Unfortunately I am not available Sunday.
However, I am good for Saturday after 3pm (I get off work at 3pm).

Saturday is always better than Sunday for us. We should be able to make it for then. Mont Park might be a good place as long as there is nothing major (music) going on there already. Last time we couldn't even hear ourselves think. I'd check the weather forcast too. Not sure if this weekend is going to be another rainy one or not.

Oh... if anyone has pictures from the Canada Day Event, Please bring them. I would really like to get some new costume pics up in the gallerry.

I already told John this but for everyone elses knowledge...I'm open either day. If Saturday is the choice I like that.

Small update:

There appears to be no major events scheduled for either Montebello Park or Burgoyne Woods this weekend.

Ribfest is scheduled for the following week at the park.

The early weather forecast says cloudy and a high of 27 for Saturday. That follows 2 days of sunny weather on Thursday and Friday. Hopefully the sunshine holds out for an extra day and makes for nice weather on Saturday.

 

oh man, enviroment canada's forecasts are always so wrong. I switched theweathernetwork.com. And according to them there's a 40% chance of skattered showers on saturday.

 

Any idea of a time?

 

Tim said he works till 3 so how about 3:30-4:00.

 

I wouldn't be able to come at all on Sunday, but I think I may be able to make it on the saturday.

Alright, it looks like the meeting will be Saturday, 26 July @ 4:00 p.m.

The location is still up for discussion.

The weather forecast still doesn't look good for an outdoor location, but we know how easily that can change.

Dana suggested as an alternate meeting in the Food Court of the Pen Centre?

Well as of 1:11 p.m. EDT, Envoronment Canada says:

Saturday .. A mix of sun and cloud. Low 18. High 28.

Better than yesterday's forecast.. now Sunday is looking not as nice.

So perhaps the outdoor location will work afterall. Of course we know it can change.

We still didn't decide a location. Is Montebello Park OK for people? How about Burgoyne Woods? You can go swimming before the meeting if you want? Is the idea of the Pen Food Court OK if it is pouring rain?

We need to let other people know so can we get the location decided ASAP please?

OK, this is the official announcement!

The meeting is on Saturday, 26 July at 4:00 p.m. in Montebello Park, downtown St. Catharines. We'll meet in the pavillion.

The weather has changed again, its now a 30% chance of rain in the evening, but just in case...

If the weather is really unpleasant just prior to the meeting (say 3:30) call me on my cell phone (PM for the number if you don't have it). We'll have an alternate location set up.

well, even though I hadn't posted whether I was coming or not before....I definitely won't be coming now.
I just found out today that my boss wants to get in a few hours on this one house tomorrow because we got really behind and we have to try and finish it by next thursday (it's a BIG job). Even though he only wants 4 or 5 hours....I'd have to come home, shower, look decent (even WITH all the white oil paint all over me), and then drive down there.....so yeah.....I'm probably gonna be a no-show.
