anyone else been getting this message every time they sign on since last night? i'm not quite sure if it's just me, or if it's my connection, or if it's aim.

it really sucks though. i'm lost without my buddy list! :(

It's not you, I'm almost positive it's AIM. If you're not willing to d/l one of those "all-in-one" IMs such as Trillian or Odigo, you can try changing your AIM connection from login.oscar.aol.com to login.icq.com.

I can't guarantee it'll work, but you do have some options.

Or... you can wait ten minutes and try again.

i've gotten it before, just not with this kind of regularity. i haven't had a buddy list since last night, and i've signed off and then back on again to try and see if that'll fix it. i've also disconected and then connected again to see if that fixes it also. neither works

i went from cable to dialup through the school. ew. :(

i got it a few times. I also have deadaim, so what i did was logon to some random name on my list, then clone it to the SN i wanted.

    Solved the problem.

rebooting does nothing in this case, but it reminds me of the joke where a bunch of computer scientists were in a car that wouldn't start, so they just all got out and got back in again, and tried again.

well, it was funnier when my mom told it to me.

vader - which thread in comm?
