They kill things. For example, their thudbugs and razor bugs and plasma cannon put holes in things. Their amphistaves slice things. Their grutchins eat things.

    AD-

We haven't really seen very many examples of true bioweapons, by which I'm assuming you mean large scale chemical weapons, outside of their standard weaponry (Amphistaves, thudbugs, etc).

The one thing we really have seen is the chemical agent used to destroy Ithor. It was a chemical that reduced everything to it's basic metabolic level, IIRC. I would assume that's just about the baddest thing the Vong have to throw at the NR, likening it to the Empire's old Superweapons.

By "bioweapon" i think it organic weapons were meant.

    There are:
    thudbugs, exploding bugs
amphistaffs, snake like animals that spit poison, block a lightsaber, and turn into a whip
Voodum crab armnour, living armour leals itself and can deflect blaster bolts and saber swings

they also have bioships which can shoot superheated plasma or molton rock and use dovin basals, organic creatures that can create point singularities to suck in turbolaser blasts and propel the ships themselves.

There are also various ground based weapon creatures, usually huge ones.

Basically the Vong seem to have a lot of leftover super-weapons from their 'great wars' but from what I gather they only have enough to use most of them once.

    * They have the super Dovin Basil that destroyed Serendipidal

    * They have the weapon that destroyed Ithor utterly

    * They also killed the Nosarian Homeworld with a plague that melted everyone

Speaking frankly, the Yuuzhan Vong have generally failed to show significant prowess at biological and genetic manipulation. Certainly, they have not produced anything to rival the complexity of the Galactic Empire's most successful biological weapon, a modified strain of Bledsoe's disease.

It would appear to be no stretch of the truth to say that the Yuuzhan Vong's biologically-engineered weapons concentrate on novelty and quantity for their effectiveness, rather than on any real degree of quality or ingenuity.

Man, talk about a list. Try getting a hold of the Essential Guide to Alien Species and the NJO sourcebook. they'll both give you some idea of the various bioweapons the Vong have.

The Yuuzhan Vong are so fed-up that they create some bioweapons. But they will die at the end of the New Jedi Order I hope and I'm sure !!!!!!

Question do Corral Skippers ever run out of Plasma?they're only small little ships and in a long battle it seems logical that a Corral Skipper would eventually run out of Plasma to fire at enemy ships, bigger ships would eventually use up their supply but it would take a very long time and they would be fully fueled before a battle because the Yuuzhan Vong would be smart enough to replenish their supply of Plasma for the ships cannons.

That is a good question. I thought that they form the plasma from melting Yorik Coral and that stuff grows so I would assume they just "grow" their ammo. I could be wrong though.

That could be...but then there still needs to be some nutrient or form of sustainance for the growth to take place. There's a "fuel tank" like organ in there somewhere, and I'm sure it would run out. I'd say a good 20 minutes of dogfighting should drain most coralskippers...though that's purely hypothetical. ;)

I'd imagine it's about comparable to an X-Wing and laser gas.

Valid point! So far the plasma's been treated like an inexhaustable resource...

Hmm... I might tie this concept into Darkness Shaped somewhere... Give me a bit to research, and I'll be back with a theory on something...

    *thinks*

Oh, btw - thanks for correcting that link Nom! I was major annoyed that I couldn't get the exact link with this stupid server at uni! I'd like to say thanx for that YV Encyclopedia, btw, it's been a MAJOR help in writing DS so far! One of the best resources imo!
