All- please do not post pictures of entire pages from the book. Authors like Jason work very hard on these things, posting info dumps and whole pages isn't respectful. Sharing tidbits and discussing points to generate interest is ok, but please refrain from posting any more pages. If you want to see whole pages, buy the book or borrow a friends copy. This is your first and last warning. --Adm. Nick
Replica Journals: Ezra's rebel journal Sabine's Rebel Sketchbook Rey's Survival Guide* Bomber Command* Rose Tico: Resistance Fighter* Tales from Vandor* Tales of Hope and Courage All the above are from Studio Fun and have the same sort of layout - first person, fold out flaps etc. All a good source of information. Finally there is: Rogue One: Rebel Dossier / Mission Files * Rebel Files Rebel Files is Dan Wallace's excellent in universe book akin to the.jedi code/sith book. Rebel Dossier compliments this but focues on the R1 era. A bigger book but full of info leading up to Scariff. *Written by @jasonfry
I also forgot Poe Dameron Pilot Log also from studio fun. There is also two backstories books which act as diaries type books for Leia and Vader. Vader's book is written by, yep, you guessed it - Mr Fry!
On the Coonee/Saberhing stuff being brought back, even if just as an in-universe rumor, I'm glad to hear it. I always thought that was an interesting route to take for Han's upbringing. Not to mention, very bizarre given that it involved Han and Chewie herding giant lizards eaten as aphrodisiac. Actually, it's fun to think how the EU would be different if all of those early Lucas notes were used, and strange that C-3PO of all was the only one who did actually get his backstory from the Lucas notes (only to then have Lucas overwrite it for TPM). Though I do actually think those early notes of his on Leia was some of his inspiration for Padme and her family in TPM/AOTC. I'm also honestly surprised we never got "young Han on Kashyyyk" at some point during TCW. That and something about Plagueis were two things I was absolutely certain we would get at some point, especially after Chewie did appear.
Really wanted to find this today. However, neither Waterstones or Smiths in town had it. Amazon UK has a 1 to 2 month wait. Amazon US has a 1 to 4 week wait. What - did they only print 3 copies of it?
Finished the book last night. So much fun. The return of "Ian" Solo from the LEGO Yoda special and the inclusion of Lucas' original Solo backstory--perfection.
Brilliant returns to canon, Jason. You always manage to make a silk purse from whatever you're handed.
This book is a different size than the other Studio Fun books I have. It's bigger. It's throwing off my shelf. Sent from my SM-G386W using Tapatalk
@jasonfry : Just a trivial detail, but I must ask. At one point, Midnight says that: "Heavy work [in the Kessel Mines] gets done by Wookiees, Houks, Gigorans, Yuzzum, and other big bruiser species." Did you actually mean YuzzUm? Because, no offence to our powerfully-voiced friends from Endor, but I think the YuzzEM fit the "big bruiser" description better. ^^
Yeah, I am still waiting for my copy from the local book store as well. The publisher has had it listed as sold out/backordered since the publication date. @jasonfry - do you know what is going on with this one having such abysmal availability?
How have I been a Star Wars fan for twenty-three years and am only now finding out that Hin and Kee are not the same species as Joh Yowza? I don't know what to do with this.
I loved the image of Luke and Leia teamed up with a duo of tall CGI Muppet weirdos, and just figured Joh was a kinda runty example of his species.
