I stood by Brice’s bedside as he slept peacefully. My son was starting to be tall like Jess making me smile at the thought. I gently leaned over and ran my hand along his jaw. He would make a wonderful Jedi one day. “I love you, Brice,” I whispered gently as Brice shifted in his sleep a bit.

I popped into Mekaila’s room next as she sat up and looked at me with wide eyes. “Mommy, what happened to you? Did you die?”

“Not exactly and your grandfather is working on it,” I answered with a frown as Mekaila’s lower lip trembled. “It’ll be all right, I promise.”

“It better be or we’re all in trouble,” I heard Jess speak up from behind me. “What did he do to you?”

“He pushed me out of my body allowing Tahiri full control,” I explained with a frown. “There is a chance this can be fixed.”

“I need you, Fress and I can’t stand not having you in bed anymore,” Jess whispered in a painful tone. “I regret allowing you to go.”

I know, I silently agreed with him. This was painful for me too not being able to be there for my family was killing me. “I feel the same way.”

    “I love you,” Jess whispered.

“I love you, Jess and I love our children. Anakin is going to work on a solution with Master Yoda,” I explained with a frown. “Just a matter of pushing Tahiri’s spirit out of my body.”

“I hope so, we need you Fress,” Jess said as pain crossed his features as I felt guilt wash over me. I needed them just as much as they needed me. They were the reason that keeps me going day after day. I disappeared and reappeared on Dooku’s ship just in time to hear him say, where are the Jedi? They’re gone, I thought with a smirk. You didn’t think they wouldn’t realize what was up and stay did you? Back to square one for you Dooku.

Nice family moments for Fress, but still lots of problems with Dooku.

I floated around the ship popping in and out of Dooku’s room when he slept. He wasn’t too happy about how the events turned out so he decided to have probe droids sent out to all corners of the galaxy. I smirked as Dooku sat up and looked at me. “I’m going to haunt you for the rest of your days.”

“You warned them, didn’t you?” Dooku accused causing me to smirk.

“You warned them yourself, I told Anakin to move everyone if I fell to the dark side because it would no longer be safe. The day you had Tahiri call Anakin is the day you tipped him off that everything went south. I just had the foresight to warn them what I was planning to do,” I gave an annoying evil smirk causing Dooku to frown. “I’ve been asked to keep tabs on you. You want me to stop keeping tabs, allow me control of my body again and I’ll leave you alone. Tahiri finds someone else to inhabit instead. That’s the deal.”

“No deal,” Dooku was quick to answer. “As soon you regain control you’ll stab me first chance you become aware. I have foreseen it.”

“You don’t have me to worry about too much. I would be more worried about my husband who is feeling deprived of physical relations. Men get crazy and desperate when they lack physical touch from their wife. Especially since my other half holds a lightsaber,” I explained with a mischief smile. “He wants me back in bed with him. If I were you, I would get used to sleeping with one eye open. Maybe that’s your problem and why you fell to the dark side, no one to snuggle with at night.”

“Enough of this,” Dooku said as he stood up and glared at me. “You will tell me where the Jedi are.”

“Good luck with that, you’re not getting anything out of me,” I answered as I popped out of his room and to where Yoda had taken the Jedi too.

“Irritating Dooku again, has you?” Yoda questioned causing me to smirk. “Enough trouble you are in, aggravating him will only make things worse. Know this by now you must.”

Anakin walked in causing me to smile. “Hello Ani. Dooku has sent out probe droids looking for the Jedi.”

“That doesn’t surprise me,” Anakin agreed with a smile. “I take it he didn’t agree to your proposal?”

“No, he’s making it difficult,” I answered with a frown. “It looks like we’re going to have to do this the hard way.”

“To regain control, reenter your body you must prior to pushing Tahiri out of your body,” Yoda spoke. “Training Anakin I am in able to dealing with this issue. Take some time and practice before attempting it is crucial.”

“It will take some time, but I promise you, Fress. I will help you get your body back,” Anakin spoke with a grin. “Just don’t aggravate Dooku anymore then you already have.”

“Yes master,” I agreed with a frown. The last thing I need is to end up in a spot of no return and that would not bold well for me or my family. I popped into where I sensed Brice and Mekaila were and watched them sleep. I loved my children and ending up to the point of no return scared me. I had to keep myself out of further trouble and allow Anakin to do his part. I wanted to hug my children and husband again. "Keep strong, my children. I'll be with you soon enough."

Dooku is an idiot if he thinks that having control over Fress is the answer to his problems.

For the next several days, I stayed out of Dooku’s sight. I would pop in and again to find out where he was going without him realizing I was looking at the coordinates. Tahiri seemed even more oblivious to me being there. It was like she didn’t realize I was waiting to pounce on her.

“Do you think Fress has given up, master?” Tahiri questioned with a frown. “I haven’t seen her in days.”

“It’s possible but I highly doubt it,” Dooku answered honestly. “When she was living she and Anakin were persistent until the task of stopping me was completed. Set your course Coruscant.”

“Yes master,” Tahiri answered as I waited for her enter the coordinates. Those weren’t the coordinates for Coruscant, they were for Naboo. I smirked. Nice try I thought as Dooku pulled down on the hyperspace lever. I wonder why he was headed for Naboo, anyways. Maybe he has figured out I was still looking over his shoulder from time to time.

As the hours passed by they came out of hyperspace. I noted Naboo was their destination as I frowned. I hoped Anakin and Padme weren’t here visiting Padme’s family. I sensed for Anakin’s presence as I popped out of the shuttle and to where I sensed he was.

Anakin wasn’t on Naboo causing me to frown as he looked at me with concern. “They just arrived at Naboo. Padme isn’t there is she?”

“Nope, no one is,” Anakin answered with a smirk. “Yoda is waiting for him. I suggest you get there. He’s going to attempt to push Tahiri out first.”

“Duly noted,” I popped back out to where Yoda was waiting for Tahiri to arrive. I glanced at Yoda and frowned. “Is this a good time to jump back into my body?”

“Arrives soon does she? Yes, jump back into your body you must prior to me pushing her out,” Yoda answered. “Wait you must, see you enter first I must before attempting the feat.”

We waited for Dooku and Tahiri to arrive. Master Yoda putting himself out in the open was very tempting for the dark lord it seemed. I waited for Tahiri to show. As soon as she walked into that door I would reenter my body. I will miss being able to jump between planets without the use of a ship on the other hand, I wanted to hug my family again. “I thought Anakin was doing this?”

“Attempt this first I must,” Yoda answered. “In order to properly train Anakin.”

That suddenly made me nervous. I took a deep breath as I waited for Dooku and Tahiri to show. There was a chance it may not work and we would be tipping off Dooku to our plans. Or he may not figure it out. I shrugged my ghostly shoulders. Time would only tell.

I popped in behind Tahiri as Dooku and she entered the room Yoda was standing in. I glanced at Yoda waiting for his signal. I didn’t plan to do the talking but this was the only way to get out of this situation. Dooku was a dead man as soon the plan succeeded.

“Master Yoda,” Dooku spoke in that calm maddening tone of his. “Good to see you again, my old friend.”

“No friend of yours, am I,” Yoda spoke with a frown. “The dark side consumed you it has. Give Fress her body back, last chance this is.”

“I don’t plan too,” Tahiri spoke. “It’s been fun walking around again.”

“Very well, we could’ve done this the easy way,” I spoke up from behind her as she turned on her heel. “Since asking nice won’t work,” I re-entered my body as the darkness closed around me once again as I sensed Master Yoda sensing between us.

I felt a powerful push as I opened my eyes and saw Tahiri’s spirit standing outside my body again as I unhooked the lightsaber at my side and pressed it at Dooku’s side. “I gave you a chance to do this the easy way,” I warned with a hiss. “You chose the hard way.”

“What are you going to do, Master Jedi?” Dooku questioned as Anakin Skywalker walked into the room and grinned. “Kill me in cold blood?”

“No but he will,” I pointed to Anakin who lit his lightsaber and plowed it into Dooku’s lower abdomen as he slowly slunk to the ground with pain and shock on his face. “You had your chance to live and you blew it. We’ll take back Coruscant after this.”

I turned my attention to Tahiri who looked shocked. “As for you, I don’t want to see you ever again. I will make your life a living hell if you attempt to over take me again,” I stretched out with the Force as fear crossed her features. “You maybe my dark side, you may have taken on a personality trait of your own. That doesn’t mean I accept you as you,” I stretched out with the Force and absorbed her in as I sensed Tahiri become dormant falling asleep inside me. I pushed her to the part of my darkest mind where she will never live to see the light of day again.

I opened my eyes as Anakin approached me and I threw myself into my long time friend’s arms. “Good to have you back, Fress.”

“Good to be back, Anakin,” I agreed as we headed towards the ship Yoda and Anakin came on. “I can’t wait to see my children and husband.”

“They can’t either,” Anakin agreed. “They all miss you.”

“I miss them too,” I gave a weary smile as we walked up the ramp. Master Yoda walked up behind us as I turned my attention to them. “Thank you, Master Yoda. I owe you one.”

“Pass on that you have learned,” Yoda said with a smile. “That is all I ask for in return.”

I promised with a smile as I walked into the cockpit and sat down in the co-pilots seat as Anakin took the engines off standby. We decided it was time to leave before Dooku was discovered. I wanted to go home. I was relieved that this part of the nightmare was over. Next on the to do list, was retake Coruscant back. First we had to get word out to the Alliance military, that Dooku was now dead.

I walked down the ramps shuttle and knelled down as Mekaila and Brice rushed into my arms. I hugged both tightly to me and kissed the tops of their heads. I missed these two badly. “I missed you both,” I whispered into their ears. “I love you both dearly.”

“I love you too, mommy,” Mekaila whispered back as I felt my heart fill with love for my twins.

“I missed you, mom,” Brice said as he tightened his little grip around me. “I love you.”

“My babies,” I whispered not wanting to let go as I saw Jess walk up to us with a big smile on his face. “I missed you, Jess.”

“I missed you too, sweetheart,” Jess agreed as he knelled down wrapping his arms around all three of us. “I’m relieved to see master Yoda’s plan go off without a hitch.”

“We talked to Mon Mothma and Ackbar, they’re already making plans to retake back Coruscant,” I explained as Luke and Leia ran out and hugged Anakin followed by Padme.

Obi-Wan and Mike walked out as I smiled at my padawan learner. Obi-Wan had taken over his training after I left for Coruscant. “Hello Obi-Wan.”

“It’s good to have you back, Fress,” Obi-Wan said with a smile. “Poor Jess, I think the heat was starting to get to him, or he was really missing you.”

“It’s good to be back,” I agreed with a smile as Jess kissed me on the lips. I reached up one hand and held Jess’s jaw deepening the kiss. The sound of ewwww from the twins broke the kiss up. I looked at Jess breathing a little heavy as he grinned. “I think we need to have some mommy and daddy time.”

“I think so too,” Jess agreed with a grin as the twins broke away from me and rushed to Anakin. “Obi-Wan, would you mind watching them for the next two hours?” Jess questioned.

“Of course I will, maybe we can work on their meditation skills?” Obi-Wan questioned as I nodded in agreement.

“They have to start somewhere,” I agreed as Jess picked me up into strong arms as I wrapped my arms around his neck. The next two hours was a reunion to remember for a long time to come and a reminder to never ever do that again.

I didn’t want to leave my children so soon, but Mon Mothma was insistent we attempt to over take Coruscant before someone else reared their ugly head. And to be honest, she was right and I was tired of hiding on the desert world. I stood on the bridge of Anakin’s new flagship, Defender II. I smiled at the thought. Anakin had chosen the name after his old flag ship’s name. I turned my attention to Anakin. We had both decided to head planet side to help with the ground troops instead of flying our fighters. I got promoted to General and Anakin was promoted to Admiral causing me to smirk. That also meant he had far more responsibilities then he really wanted, I planned to tease him later. But now wasn’t the time.

“General, head count please,” Anakin commanded as I glanced at the communication’s officer.

“This is Defender, all wings report in,” I commanded as I listened to everyone checking in.

“Red leader standing by, Gold Leader standing by, Shadow Leader standing by my beautiful wife, I love you,” causing me to blush. Jess was leading the squadron this time. If all went well, he planned to meet us planet side. “I love you too, sweetheart. Be careful out there, I need my husband back in one piece when this is over with.” I answered as Anakin smirked. “Quit flirting with the General, I don’t care if you’re sleeping with her, Commander, Blue Leader standing by,“ Ahsoka chipped in teasingly.” I smirked at my long time friend, Ahsoka was such a tease at times.

I shook my head as I turned my attention to Anakin. “All wings accounted for, Admiral Sky Guy.”

I heard a few chuckles at the nickname causing Anakin to roll his eyes. “I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that, General. All wings, this is Admiral Skywalker, wait for my mark to jump to light speed.”

I heard clicks in acknowledgement as Anakin sent off a report to Mon Mothma that we were ready to get under way. Anakin glanced at me with concern. Something was wrong I knew that look. “What’s wrong?”

“There’s no blockade around Coruscant, the Imperials jumped ship. If we attack them, we’ll look no better then them,” Anakin explained causing me to frown.

“Are you sure it’s not a trap to get us to lower our defenses early on?” I questioned causing Anakin to place a hand underneath his chin.

“It’s possible, but I’m unsure,” Anakin answered honestly. “It’s almost like they were pulled elsewhere.”

“Maybe someone is already taking over?” I questioned causing Anakin to nod in agreement. “They went to regroup elsewhere, this is our chance to take the planet with no loss of life,” I pointed out with a hopeful. “It’s almost like they’re handing it to us.”

“That is what bothers me, it could be a well thought out trap, or they’ve done something and plan to let us clean up after them,” Anakin pointed out with a frown. “If we break up our formation before making the jump, it would leave ourselves wide open if it is a trap. On the other hand, they may not even be there.”

“Anakin, I say we keep formation, make the jump and call it off if it isn’t a trap. There is nothing saying we have to attack if there is no blockade or resistance,” I pointed out with a frown as Anakin nodded in agreement. “I would feel uneasy if we broke formation just incase they decided to ambush us from one jump away.”

“I agree, Fress,” Anakin answered as he frowned. “I say we do it your way,” he turned the comlink back on. “This is Admiral Skywalker, new intelligence report has come in. There is no blockade or Navy around Coruscant,” I heard some confused whispers come over the comm. “It appears they have left. General Colias and I have decided to keep formation incase it’s a trap. If it isn’t we have a chance to take the planet back with no loss of life.”

“Admiral?” I questioned as Anakin looked at me and nodded. “On your signal.”

“Send the signal,” Anakin commanded as the communications officer relayed the order.

I watched as the dots turned into lines as the Defender made the jump. If nothing else this will prove interesting. I glanced at Anakin as an uneasy feeling settled into the pit of my stomach. What if they did something planet side and left it wide open for us to clean up? Sometimes it was hard to predict what the Imperials had in mind. Now that Dooku and Palpatine were gone, Coruscant was wide open to take back control.

The lines turned into dots as the Defender came out of hyperspace as I turned my attention to the radar team. “Update?”

“No ships are orbiting the planet, the blockade is gone, General,” the officer answered as I glanced around the bridge. I sensed confusion through the Force mirrored by my own. I thought they would have a blockade up. “Do a long range scan,” I turned my attention to Anakin who looked troubled. After everything we went through, why would they just hand the planet over to us?

“Reports from the ground teams, Admiral,” a communications officer shouted causing Anakin to nod to go on. “No signs of troopers anywhere. It’s almost like the navy packed up and left the planet wide open.”

“What about the inhabitants of the planet?” Anakin questioned with a frown as I waited for a reply, something was definitely a miss. “Are they still alive?”

“Several buildings were blown up no more then two hours ago,” the officer answered as I felt my heart sink. “Some of our ground crew is already helping with rescue operations.”

I closed my eyes as I felt death all around me through the Force as I focused in and shuddered. They left the planet in ruins and left with what troops they had left. All in all, they gave the planet up with a terrible price. “General,” I glanced at Anakin with a frown as he gave a heavy sigh. “Prepare to land our troops to help with the rescue mission.”

“Yes Admiral,” I answered as I turned my attention to the officer. “Send the signal, all fighters are to land within two miles of the wreckage site, everyone on cannons are to head to the transports immediately. We’ll be going planet side.”

“Yes General,” the officer answered as he relayed the message.

I looked at Anakin as he stood up and prepared to leave the bridge. “Where do you think you’re going, Admiral?”

“To help with….” Anakin sat down in the chair and gave a heavy sigh. “I can’t leave until we know for sure they won’t come back.”

“I’ll go planet side and keep you updated,” I said with a weary smile as I headed off the bridge.

“Fress,” I paused in mid stride and turned to look at him with a frown. “We’ll hunt them down and make them pay for this.”

I felt chills go up my spine as I gave a slit nod. “I know, I feel the same way but revenge is not the Jedi way,” I gently reminded Anakin.

Anakin nodded in agreement as I left the bridge and headed towards the docking bay. It didn’t sound good. I wasn’t prepared for what was to come next.
    ----------------------
I put on a pair of heavy work gloves as I prepared to start moving the rubble away. One bright spot to being a Force sensitive in a rescue mission, you can always sense where they are. I closed my eyes listening to the crew chatter as I shook my head focusing on presences in the Force. I felt some started fading away as I walked towards a pile of rubble that used to be a doorway. I started to pull the rubble away as I heard faint cries for help causing me to stretch out with the Force and lifting the pile high enough as to figures crawled out.

Jess rushed in as he helped the girls out as I moved the pile back down. “If you go over there, those two medics will check you over for injuries,” he instructed as they hugged him and then me.

“Two more alive, and ten dead. This is promising to be a long day,” I said with a frown. “We’ll need to set up crews to work around the clock.”

“Padme is working on setting up the crews,” Jess said as he tossed me a bottle of water. “I can’t believe they did this.”

“It came as a shock to us all,” I said as I glanced to where Anakin was busy with moving debris out of the way. He finally joined the search and rescue two hours later after they received the all clear from Mon Mothma.

“General, you better come and have a look at this,” an officer yelled out causing me to run over and looked at the body festering with soars. “Still alive but barely.”

“What in the name of the Force,” I squatted down as Jess looked over my shoulder and I sensed the shock coming from him. “No one touch him, Jess call the medics over and tell them to suit up for bio hazard warfare.”

“Sure thing Fress,” Jess ran over to the medics and told them what had been discovered. The man looked at me with pain in his eyes.

“Please, help them,” the man said as he pointed over to two more bodies lying in a similar state.

“I’m General Colias of the Alliance Military, do you know what happened? Was it a bomb being set off or something else?”

The man coughed as blood foamed out of his mouth. “I don’t know.”

The medics walked over as more approached the two other bodies as the medic bent down taking the man’s temperature. “No fever, this looks like nuclear poisoning. We should have the air checked just incase. Some blood tests should tell the tale if it is a virus or bacteria infection.”

“Right,” I glanced at Jess as he looked concerned. I didn’t think it was nuclear poisoning, we’ve been on the ground long enough to know if the air was poisoned. Anakin walked over and looked down at the man lying on the ground.

“That looks painful,” Anakin said as he turned his attention to the medic. “Order some blood tests immediately, we need to know what we’re dealing with.”

“Yes Admiral,” the medic said as they prepared to move the man and the others.

“Here’s the question, why did they leave the planet wide open if they didn’t introduce something deadly?” I questioned with concern in my tone. What did we walk into?

Anakin shook his head as he glanced at me with a frown looking puzzled. That was a good question and the blood tests should tell what really was going on.

I sat up in and bed and stood up as I wrapped a robe around me. Jess was still asleep causing me to frown. Normally he’s up before I am, but considering the amount of things we did yesterday, he most likely needed the extra sleep. I moved into the kitchen where Anakin was waiting for me with a worried expression. “Is something wrong? Did the blood work come back?”

“It did, its not nuclear poisoning,” Anakin answered as I started filling craft with water. “I would be cautious of the water. It appears to have been introduced into the water table.”

That caused me to pause in filling from the tap as I walked over and poured the water into a pot and turned on the heating unit. “We’ll boil water until the water has been purified.”

“I had our team issue a boil water advisory, if they’re caught in time. Bacta appears to be the only cure. By the time we found the others yesterday, they were past the point of no return,” Anakin continued to explain as I sighed in frustration. “They passed away shortly after they took them to the medward.”

I felt frustration well up in me. No wonder they abandoned the planet, they figured it would be the end of us. So far we knew what we were dealing with and how to control the spread. “We should have teams go door to door to see if anyone has failed to check into the medward.”

“I’ll organize a team to help with sterilizing,” Anakin said as he sat down at the table. “ I want you to organize a team to go door to door.”

“Is it spread through bodily fluids or…” I questioned as Anakin nodded. “So not airborne?” He shook his head. That was at least one good piece of news. It meant containing the spread would require some work but airborne would’ve been far worse.

Jess walked in as he rubbed his head a bit as he glanced at me bleary eyed. I rose an eyebrow noting he looked a little flushed. “Morning, what did I miss?”

I approached Jess with caution and placed the back of my hand on his forehead noting it felt like it was above normal. “Jess did you drink any water last night?”

Jess shook his head. “The only water I drank was bottled, the stuff we brought with us. Was something introduced into the water? Is that what’s going on? I think I got burned yesterday. I checked my temp but it’s normal.”

“No other symptoms?” Anakin questioned as he watched Jess with concern. “Headache, nausea, vomiting, the trots?”

Jess shook his head. “My skin feels like its on fire though, no fever no other symptoms,” he answered honestly. “I feel fine for the most part.”

“I have something for sun burn in the med cabinets,” I said as I walked into the refresher and retrieved the container. I walked back and quickly applied some to Jess’s face as a relieved expression crossed his features. “Why didn’t you say anything last night?” For some reason I thought staying on Tatooine would help us develop some sort of protection, maybe I was wrong on that.

“I didn’t realize what was wrong last night,” Jess answered honestly. “Never crossed my mind until now. Kind of surprising considering how long we were on Tatooine for.”

“No kidding,” Anakin agreed. I was okay and Anakin was okay. We both had gained some amount of tan while staying on the dessert planet, but Jess on the other hand now I’m thinking about it. He stayed cleared of the suns and his skin was a tad bit lighter then mine. “Jess, did you stay clear of the suns on Tatooine?”

Jess nodded as he rolled up his sleeve, it looked normal. No redness there. He pulled off his shirt and you could see the lines. I smirked as I felt the urge to take him back to bed. The lines, curves and muscles and he was all mine.

“That’s definitely a sun burn,” I said as relief washed through me. You could see where he was exposed to the sun verses where he wasn’t. “I guess you’re going to be on my team today, we’ll be out of the sun for the most part. Or you could consider wearing a robe.”

Jess smiled as he wrapped an arm around me. “Someone has to watch your back,” he smirked as I kissed him on the lips. “Yes, I don’t mind helping you going door to door.”

“Thanks Jess, let’s eat then head out,” I felt relief it was not the bacteria infection. It looked like it was getting into the lungs from what I saw on the one victim yesterday. He was coughing up blood and it looked bubbly. I shook my head as Jess prepared some rations from what we brought with us. To be honest, we could skip the caf this morning. We ate from the rations and water we brought with us. At least we knew those were safe for consumption.

Hopefully Jess is well and all a sunburn was all that happened; and hopefully they will notify everyone that the water is not safe to drink.

Whew, [face_relieved] that it was just only sunburn and not something worse and glad that they isolated the way it's spread. Makes it easier to contain.

As we door to door, I began to realize they released this bacteria in the water in the last two to three weeks. We’ve come across scores of bodies in the apartments. I closed my eyes as I banged my head against the wall feeling frustration well up in me. They let us have the planet because there was a huge mess to clean up. They issued the boil water alert over the holo news earlier this morning warning anyone who wasn’t sick to boil water and to report anyone sick to one of our biohazard teams. There was five teams total but it wasn’t enough. I glanced at Jess as he shook his head frustration was clearly on his features. “Why would they do this?”

“I don’t know, sweetheart,” Jess answered honestly. “The Empire has so many crimes against them it’s hard to fathom what they were thinking.”

“General?” A voice said causing me to look at the man with a frown. “My name is Briley and my daughter fell ill last night. She’s not getting better and is getting worse. Would you mind coming with me?”

“Jess, take over here,” I turned my attention to Grens and Ferns. “You two come with me,” I said as both needed in agreement as we followed the man to his apartment.

Briley glanced at my side and raised an eyebrow. “You’re a Jedi?”

“I am,” I answered honestly with a frown. “I was training before the order was issued and two Jedi Masters helped finished my training shortly after. I’m Master Colias.”

Briley opened the door as stepped in as we followed him in as I suspect was the mother walked out of the bedroom looking worried. “She’s in there.”

I stepped into the room as the girl finished expelling contents from her stomach. I walked to the bed and looked in the bucket. It was bloody. The child was barely six years old. “My name is Fress, what’s your name?”

“Lillian,” the girl answered looking really tired. “I don’t feel good. Please help me.”

“I know, sweetie. These gentlemen with me are going to take a look and we’ll go from there, okay?” I answered as she nodded closing her eyes. “We need you to stay awake.”

“So tired,” Lillian groaned as I placed my gloved hand against her forehead. Just like all the others, high fever.

“You two go to work, I’m going to have a chat with the parents,” I said as both nodded in agreement. I walked out of the bedroom as the father looked at me with desperation in his eyes. “They’re giving her a physical. We’ll know more in a few minutes. She has some of the signs I’ve seen with the others. The sooner we get her into bacta the better chance she stands of surviving.”

“A bacta dunk?” Briley questioned with a frown. “Is that the only cure?”

I nodded as I brought out thermometer the medics let me borrow along with covers to use with each patient to prevent an accidental spread. I placed a cleaned cover on and stepped towards the father. “I want to take your temps. Fever is the first symptom along with aches and pains. Basically flulike symptoms,” I placed the thermometer into his ear and waited for a beep. I pulled the thermometer out and looked at it. He had a mild fever causing me to frown as I retook his temperature. It came out as the same. I took the piece off and placed a clean one on and took the mother’s temp. Both had low grade fevers.

“General, she has the infection. We’re getting ready to move her,” Ferns reported with a somber expression. “If we don’t go now, she will be critical within the next hour or two.”

“Take the parents with you, they both have low grade fevers,” I explained with a serious expression. “We’ll mark the apartment to have the cleaning crews come in to disinfect the place.”

“Yes General,” Ferns answered he walked back into the room as I turned my attention to the parents.

“I’m placing all three of you under strict quarantine orders. Go with them. You will be attended in the wing they set up at the med ward for the cases. There isn’t much more we can do, they will do their best to help you,” I explained as I placed my thermometer away.

“Thank you, General for helping,” Briley said as the mother started shedding tears as they brought out the child on a stretcher hooked up a bacta emergency kit.

I quickly closed the door and marked with a do not enter without authorization. This place is under quarantine flimsy plast. It was going to be another long day. I called the medward a head of time to let them know they had another critical incoming plus two just starting to show symptoms. I glanced at Jess as he shook his head sadly. I started to hear murmurings from my crew, if we ever caught the one responsible. I had a feeling that hour would be his last.

    --------------------------

I collapsed on the couch as Jess sat down beside me placing his strong muscular arms around me. I leaned into him as he kissed me. We both cleaned up at the medward before leaving as was protocol for situations like this. We should make dinner soon. We came across more dead and the few families that were only just starting to become ill. With the water boil advisory out, we should in the next week or two see the cases begin to drop. They were in the process of disinfecting the water table.

“Sweetheart, are you okay?” Jess questioned in concern. “You feel a little warm.”

“I feel okay, probably from moving around so much,” I answered as Jess took out his thermometer and stuck it in my ear.

“98.6,” Jess said with a frown. “That’s normal during this time of night,” he said as he placed it back on his belt. “If it goes up…”

“I’m fine, Jess,” I said with a frown as he tightened his grip around me. “We’ll check it again in a few hours, if it will put your mind at ease.”

Jess nodded as I closed my eyes. I was exhausted and didn’t feel like eating. I felt Jess stand up and head towards the kitchen. Most likely getting dinner ready, I wondered where he got the extra energy from or maybe he used the Force? It wouldn’t be the first time he refreshed himself like that. It was his turn to cook tonight.
