I don't usually start posts on here, but this has been something on my mind. There are so many fan fics that I am TEMPTED to read from authors on The Sage board but I'm waiting until after the movie comes up. So, I'm going to be an avid reader after May 19, just so everyone knows :p

    Also, I've stayed away from discussions as well just in fear of spoilers happening to turn out. I think I'm getting paranoid! 8-}

I just remember back when ROTJ came out, I inadvertently read a Times article that gave me more information than I wanted and I promised myself I wouldn't do this for any of the other movies.

I see ROTS by Matt Stover on the shelves of the local store and I am just drooling waiting to read it! :D

Just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat around here. :)

[face_laugh] I'm with you, tangled :) Only 18 more days to go. I plan on ordering Stover's book on Amazon on the 15th or so, so I'll be able to read it right after I see the movie :p

Oh it is SO hard for me to walk out of bookstores without buying the book. But so far I have resisted the temptation.. but ooooooooh is it hard!!! I have to keep telling myself that it's only two more weeks to go :p

Oh yeah, it's defintely hard to stay spoilerfree! I went into the bookstore to pick up LoE yesterday, and before I went in, I told my friend, keep me away from the ROTS book at all costs. So yeah, I almost gave into temptation, but luckily, my friend listened and dragged me (literally) out of there. I didn't get LoR though. :p

    18 days... must... stay...strong!!!

I'm . . . not exactly in the same boat. My little raft has to wait till July 9 for RotS, and I'm seriously considering waiting for the DVD because I have a Thing with Japanese subtitles.

Luckily, I don't have to wrestle with temptation when I go to the local bookstore because it doesn't have the novelization (or any other books) in English. However, keeping away from RotS-ish fanfics and the various discussion threads here is becoming . . . difficult.

Thank the Force there's thousands of locked, guaranteed spoiler-free threads to read. :)

The numbers of viggies written now with spoilers is driving me crazy... I want to read them, but I want as much of the movie to be fresh and new to me as possible.

Just 17 days from now I can happily drown myself in all the stories.

I envy you all and your resolve. I started out wanting to be spoiler free, but then accidentally read some spoilers, became hooked and decided 'what the heck, I'll read them all'.

So yes, you all should be praised for resisting temptation. I know I can't.

On the other hand, my mother, who I usually discuss books/movies/tv shows with, is completely spoilered free. She hasn't even watched the trailers or anything. And it's so aggravating, because I want to discuss things with her and can't... She got made at me the other day, because I accidentally let something slip that was not only obvious, but public knowledge as well. So, er, yes. I admire you all. Great job. Wish I had your patience.

And there's no way in heck I could make it to July 9th- or when the DVD comes out. I'm already asking my friend to ask his friend who owns a movie theater to let me have ROTS early...

    I commend you all.

These spoiler viggies are killing me!! Am I going to have some reading catch up to do on the 20th.

I remember when TPM came out and I happened to pick up a TV Guide and started reading through it and they had the outcomes of everyone. Including Maul killing Qui and Obi killing Maul. Lemme tell ya, that ticked me off! I swore then I would stay away from spoilers until after I see the movie.

I too find myself more and more spoiled against my will.

Just yesterday I was playing Star Wars Trivial Persuit with a few friends, and almost 1/4th of all the questions I got asked were EP3 spoilers.

    Grrrness...

    ^That's no fun :(

I'm trying to be as spoiler-free as possible too. I don't read SW books in the first place (Although I read plenty else ;)), so that's one less headache. But I think I already know some things I'd rather not be aware of :(

I am a little spoiled but not as much as I was for AOTC. I knew everything about AOTC almost before I got into the theater. This time however I'm trying to stay away from spoilers which is hard. I've watched the trailer and listened to Battle of the Heroes. I agree that all the spoiler fics are kind of tempting and very hard to stay away from.

I am a little spoiled, but those were accidents.

Oh gosh, resisting the book is SO hard. It's sitting a whole 3 feet away from me right now, autographed by Matt Stover... and I can't read it. Everyone's been telling me to just read the darn thing, but dangit, I've been spoiler free for almost 3 years. What's 17 days? ;)

I can't believe I got through CIII and only picked up 2 spoilers (by accident!) Granted, I had to run into the ladies' room when they showed the trailer... twice! Part of the problem is that what I view as spoilers & what others view as spoilers isn't the same thing.

"But Lucasfilm released it, so it's not a spoiler!" Well, it is to me!

As to the book, eh. I have disliked the stuff released by Dell Rey, so it's not a strain to avoid it.

Still, I'll be glad when I've seen the movie & I don't need to avoid newspaper/magazine articles/fan fics anymore... It's going to be so depressing; I'm almost not sure I want to see it! :(

"But Lucasfilm released it, so it's not a spoiler!" Well, it is to me!

    Same here.

Just curious, but have any of you been spoiled by sigs? I'm pretty sure I've been spoiled a couple of times, although I didn't ask "Is this true?" because I dreaded that the answer might be "yes". These Schroedinger's spoilers are really a pain.

Then there was this line (which I'm 99% sure is just a SW4 parody but I'm highlighting it just in case):

"The circle is now about halfway complete . . . your powers are average, middle-aged man!!" --Anakin Skywalker, RotS

My brain shut down for ten seconds after seeing that one. :)

    - lazy

EDIT because I haven't the faintest idea what a "pardody" is.

    Oh, Lazykybys July 9! :_| [:D]

I don't know if I could do it, but I'm going to cheer ya on ;)

Having ROTS right in front of me would be TOO much temptation. Although I love the suggestion earlier of getting it on Amazon on the 13th, so it will be right there [face_devil]

I did get spoiled by one fact months and months ago, which I am going to be in complete denial about 8-} I'm not even reading your highlighted stuff, Lazykybys :p See how paranoid I am now! HELP!

The Countdown is on- 16 days left I mean...Oh, Lazykybys...Ummm...68 days left, right around the corner! :)

Spoiled? [face_mischief] You can say that of me!

There was no way I could stay UNspoiled with the friends I have... so I had no choice but the dive into the 'spoildom' because of them. I admit though...for once I'd love to go to a movie NOT knowing what it is about...but I doubt that will ever happen with me.

    G'luck staying spoiled free, friends!

I'm having a lot of practice resisting temptation. For me, it's like waiting for Christmas... yes, I could go out and buy the book and read it (It calls out to me every time I enter a store. Even the freaking grocery store has it on display!) buy I know that would steal a huge chunk of the experience of seeing the movie. I would know everything that happens, there will be no surprises. It's like "acting surprised" when you know all the gifts you're getting. It's no fun. In addition, as a college student, I have to keep reminding myself that a hardcover book costs more than I want to spend right now. I'll admit avoiding the fanfic is difficult, it's one of many reasons why I'm not on this site as often anymore (that and the fact that the release of Ep III coincides with my last week of school, so I'm getting pretty busy with final projects).

Thank you so much for starting this thread, tangled_sphere!!! I was thinking of putting up something like it, because it's getting harder and harder as The Day gets closer! All those fics, articles, pictures...the novel... =P~ Not to mention conversations in RL. I'm so terrified, I've actually told a couple people to shut up. [face_mischief]

"But Lucasfilm released it, so it's not a spoiler!" Well, it is to me!

    Same with me!

I did get spoiled by one fact months and months ago, which I am going to be in complete denial about

:_| Wow. I thought I was the only one on the planet who went into denial over things relating to Episode III. For me, it was the title...and a couple other things that I saw accidentally. [face_frustrated]

    Well, good luck, everyone! [:D]

"But Lucasfilm released it, so it's not a spoiler!" Well, it is to me!

Exactly! I want to go into the theater completely oblivious as to what's going to happen. No, "Oh boy here comes that scene!" Although I'm sure the concession stand would appreciate me not taking the stackful of napkins because one can never be too careful about what's going to make you cry. I tend to do this for every movie so they should be used to it by now.

But I'm not looking forward to all the questions I'm going to have to answer for hubby once the movie is over. He knows better than to ask me during! [face_devil]

Is anyone keeping a list of all the ROTS spoiler vignettes/stories that are being posted so in 16 days we know right where to go?

I'm not, but I can put a list together in a minute or two. As long as they have the word "spoiler" somewhere in the thread title, I can find them all. :)

Me too! I've been spoiler free for this movie. It's my last one after all. :(

My boyfriend's a dear though. He bought tickets to the midnight showing for us. :D My last one... at least I get to go to the midnight showing.

I've seen the trailers... I'll at least watch those, but for the last few movies I'd read everything. I decided not to do that for this one. :)

I've even avoided stores with SW merchandise because of what happened with EP2. My nephew got a Jango Fett action figure about a week before the movie came out and when he popped it out of the box its head stayed behind. He stopped screaming and I started when we figured out it was because the head was held on with a magnet...

I'm really, really trying to avoid spoilers...
