    ESB, Cloud city, hands down.

Within the prequels, Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs Maul.

In the EU? I'm gonna break the rules and say Ganner vs the Vong Army. I know it's not a duel, but, narratively, it felt like one.

Ganner vs. the Vong Army was awesome. I loved the duels against the Vong, mainly because the Vong ALWAYS lost in a one-on-one duel with a Jedi. At least, that's what I remember.

Generally, yeah. Which is somewhat probably character shields and moments of narrative emotional investment, but I think it's a nice touch too. Plus they often balanced it out; planets still get poisoned, Ganner still falls to an army, as does Anakin.

Well, I guess you could say that Ganner was defeated the first time that he fought the Vong, seeing as how he got his face sliced open.

On a different note, I really wish that the duel between Saba and Kenth would have been more epic than what it was, considering how they were two of the greatest masters in the entire order.

Would have been more epic if they didn't fight at all ;)

The Inferno brawl is my favourite, to be honest.

Out of EU-interpretations of the movies, the Yoda vs Sidious duel is divine.

    Winner take all.

That was a great duel. The whole "He's behind you" "That comeback was old when the stars were young" "It's your funeral" back and forth was awesome. I thought that it was too short though. The battle was also ruined for me since Jacen was humiliated by Luke during the two scenes in Jacen's office with the chair. I love those scenes, don't get me wrong but Jacen was humiliated twice and beaten by Luke at the end? Kind of cheapens Jacen as a villain. Inferno is Denning's best work post SBS in the timeline though.

The Maul vs Vader duel in Tales#9 was rather nice...

Is that canon? It just seems a little far fetched to me. Vader has nearly died numerous times if you take that plus TFU I&II into account, which kind of makes him seem pretty weak.

It's the same thing with Grievous from the original Clone Wars series to ROTS to TCW. Grievous went from awesome to alright to lame. TFU 2 ticks me off. I can't believe Del Rey and LucasArts and whoever else thought that that ending was a good idea.

I really wish that they would just scrap TFU from being canon. Starkiller was more powerful than Vader, and he was an equal to the Emperor. That means he would be as powerful as Yoda, maybe more so. I find that to be a bunch of bull.

TFU and TFU2 are rebel propaganda holofilms in my personal cannon

I've heard numerous accounts of different people starting the rebellion, only to find out that the Emperor himself started the rebellion to draw out his enemies? No, Palpatine was a brilliant man. He wouldn't do anything that stupid.

It's probably a bit of both. There was a Rebellion in the works from the moment the Clone Wars ended- what Palpatine wanted to do was bring the main groups together, then decapitate them.

I can't help but wonder why Leia never reminisced on Starkiller, considering that it was him, her, Garm Bel Iblis, Bail Organa, and Mon Mothma that declared the official rebellion. They even used his symbol, but that is never mentioned. Not once.

Most likely even she believes it was Rebel propaganda.

Honestly, the most jarring thing about TFU, for me, is that it has Kota fighting openly for the Rebellion. This just throws a lot of things off. One thing that comes to mind is that everyone makes a huge deal in Shadows of Mindor that Luke was the first Jedi to fight openly since the Clone Wars... except that old guy with the scar, of course. I suppose Kota could have kept his involvement secret or something, but that doesn't seem sensible, since the knowledge that the Rebels have a Jedi fighting for them might be a great morale booster. Then again, the Empire is very proficient at filtering out information, so maybe they didn't allow it to get out... but that still doesn't explain why the Rebels are not aware they had a Jedi fight for them. Arghhh.

Per the SW Encyclopedia, Starkiller "was ultimately no match for the power of Darth Sidious."

I hate when people say that he was a match for Sidious. In the light side ending, Starkiller had to blow himself up to have a hope of killing Sidious, and ultimately it did not work (it did not kill Vader, either). In the dark side ending... yeah, there's no question who comes out on top there.

I ultimately regard Starkiller and Vader as equals, more or less. Cutting off Vader's mask is what ultimately gave him the edge, I think. In the second game, it even looks as if Vader has the upper hand for most of the fight.

There were some awesome things about TUF, but ultimately it screws canon just as bad as TCW :/
