The thing is he did sense Sidious when his shuttle came to Mustafar in EP III. And this time, it's not Sidious just hide his presence like he always did, he was summoning the power of the Dark Side and use it to fight Maul brothers, there's no way he could still hide his presence when he was doing it.

Obi-Wan didn't sense his shuttle on Mustafar, because his shuttle arrived after Obi-Wan had left, I said that before.

He wasn't sit there, he was using the power of the Dark Side to fight and it lasted for quite a while. He could not hide his presence when he is using the Dark Side to attack.

This cartoon series creates all kinds of problems in all kinds of ways, but I just try to ignore it (ignore the continuity problems, that is)

That episode was the kind of thing we all dreamed about in 1999 - armies of mandalorians doing battle, ferocious light saber duels, and sith doing terrible, murderous things.

It was fun, it was dark, it was fantastic.

Slowpoke, we know war pollutes Jedi senses. The mess on Mandalore undoubtedly prevented Obi from sensing Sidious.

I guess you're referring to the book? I'm talking about the movie with what we saw.

Yoda was still able to sense Maul's return from so far away when war spread the galaxy. Compare to EP III, it should be easier for Obi Wan to sense Sidious since he was using his power to fight rather than just sit on the shuttle.

Forget Obi-Wan. There's one person in this episode who could have brought Sidious' schemes crashing down.

With her holocam's trusty enhance function, she could have peered under the hood of the mysterious visitor and blown open his grand designs.

Sidious should thank the Force that Soniee was nowhere near the docks, the palace or the plaza. Perhaps Bo-Katan sent her away to Galidraan or somewhere, just to keep her conveniently omnipotent technology from instantly saving the galaxy.

Is your assertion direct from the Handbook of the Sith? How else is it *you* know but *we* don't that using the dark side automatically(!) overrides any attempt to hide? Are "we' all that uninformed?

Maybe Palps didn't care to hide it later on but did now (and he would be more careful now since he was not openly Sids yet).

He is obviously not hiding it, otherwise Maul would not be able to sense him nor would the novel describe him as "But to those who could feel the Force he was anything but ordinary. To them, he was a dark sun blazing with power that is simultaneously hypnotizing and terrifying to behold." even before the fight started.

In EP III Anakin could also sense him in the Force during that fight with Mace Windu.

I'm not a big fan of Sidious being some awesome cartwheeling saber fighter, he has always seemed to mainly be a Force-based combatant who has apprentices that are mainly saber-trained (perhaps his one major weakness other than overconfidence would be his saber skills) so I didn't think the way he was fighting Savage & Maul was in keeping with the generally established character. That being said it was a great sequence, much like the fight between Pre-Visla & Maul was.

As for being sensed by others - Perhaps Sidious wanted Maul to know he was coming so as to strike fear in him.

Hadn't Obi-wan already escaped by the time Sid's fight with Maul got into high gear? Anyways Obi-wan was emotionally messed up and just wanted to get out of there before more damage was done.

    =D=

Then there's the fact that the first time Yoda ever sensed Sidious was during the battle of Coruscant, and never even felt a hint of malaise as he sat with the Chancellor in meetings or whatever.

Ok, Slowpokeking, I see where you're coming from. But note:

Page 174 is where Bo-Katan waves 'bye bye to Obi-Wan and he flies away.

Page 175 is where Sids sets the Force a'rippling and a'heaving.

I assume Obi-Wan was far enough away and emotionally crippled (in the sense of mourning Satine before putting on his "game face") that he missed like all the other Jedi the "disturbance that was Sids."

Plus, Obi Wan and of course, at least few more people knew the chancellor's shuttle, but he still went there with that ship is not something Sidious would do before he wanted his identity to be exposed.

Now you've (perhaps) stumbled on THE PLOTHOLE! Why did Sids use the Chancellor's shuttle - oh, wait - maybe he had a secret shuttle without markings!
