its bad but I find certain elements quite entertaining (the clown scenes and martin sheen over-acting) it had potential but yeah... I just thought I throw my two cents in including some bad A** actor who has such an epic voice and decent sword skills to boot!

 

It's frustrating because it could've been so good.

The reboot been in development hell for over decade. From what I understand Todd Mcfarlane wanted to direct the movie and was raising money to do it independently

I wrote the article being discussed. They are pretty good and they are all saying slightly different things. Why? Code names, that's my theory.

I am hearing original characters, I'm hearing EU characters, and I'm hearing EU amended characters which amount to an amalgamation of new characters drastically changing their EU counterparts.

I don't have permission to saying a lot yet. Sorry. But of the various sources I've been in contact with, things do not interface. Yet, when you bring in the idea of code names, it all makes a ton of sense.I should have added it might be a way of finding out where leaks spring from too.

 

Do you have any idea what the names are (the original ones) or just that they're just original names? If you do....hint please?

 

Hi Jason. Thanks for dropping in. I personally thought the article was odd, as it kind of came out of nowhere. Are you saying you are hearing things from various sources that don't quite seem to match up due to inconsistencies between names? It's still not 100% clear to me. No disrespect intended.

ETA - from a logic POV, regardless of whether the EU has used names before, some make sense to recycle, even if the character is completely different from an existing portrayal. I totally get that Luke would name a son Ben for example. I just don't need that Ben (or any other character) to be one from the EU. In fact, I hope and suspect that they will by and large overwrite all the existing EU - though by all means they should cherry pick and adapt any ideas that work.

 

I've never understood calling him Ben although he is raised by Owen.

I like the idea of a new name for him, or calling him Owen Ben Skywalker.

These are just examples:
Reliable Source 1: The characters are all new, there is no "Ben Skywalker."
Reliable Source 2: Ben Skywalker is the hero.
Reliable Source 3: Ben Skywalker is the hero but he's an amalgamation of Ben Skywalker with so and so.

If three trusted friends tell you three different things, you have to find out why that is. I think code names are the complication. That's my theory.

I also want to make it clear, I'm not hearing original character names at all. I haven't heard one original name.
