An upcoming short story appearing in Insider that may particularly interest some of you:



Hammer, written by Edward M. Erdelac and illustrated by Joe Corroney, appearing in Insider #147.

Short summary: Written by Edward M. Erdelac, “Hammer” is a dark tale with Lovecraftian undertones in which a new Star Wars villain is born. On a remote world during the tail end of the Clone Wars, a troubled Padawan discovers an ancient Sith relic from the annals Old Republic history.

Edit: Hey, introducing a new villain (which I guess means that he won't get offed in this story) when so little EU stuff is coming out... the story happens in the tail end of the Clone Wars...

Looks like Vader's spikier cousin is going to make an appearance.

Really looking forward to this. Also I wonder if there will be a bigger emphasis on Insider fiction over the next year or so, considering there won't be any books.

Introducing a new villian, at the end of the clone wars? That's a rather unusual choice.There's already quite a lot of light-saber wielding villains in there.

Will definitely check it out, but I hope that this is self-contained, otherwise it may be difficult to get a resolution to.

 

Lmao Warb Null. Is there a lamer villain whose relic that guy could have found?

Warb Null is awesome. He has cool armor! That's all you need!

 

It's not even that cool, he looks kind of dorky.

 

I'm never sure if Facebook photos work in this forum, but the author (Erdelac) has posted a preview of the first page. Mr. Null has apparently forgotten that's a lightsaber and not a staff he's leaning on.

 

Immediately after that picture was taken he just fell off his chair when the lightsaber went through the floor.

 

I reverted to my 12 year old self earlier today. SO COOL.

I'm actually curious to see what Warb Null's armor has to do with Howard Philips Lovecraft's writing.

 

Didn't the armor have like a ghost in it that made him evil or something weird?

 

Nah a ghost haunted his Sith spellbook.

 

It's hard to remember because literally nothing about his character was explained in the only story his character appears in.

 

Yeah, there's a lot of backstory to both Dark Empire and Tales of the Jedi in their RPG sourcebooks.

Warb Null is just a Boba Fett level mook in the story. But he has cool armor!

 

At this point, I would trade Boba Fett for Warb Null in a heartbeat.

 

The real test would be if he could fit in more with Disney's other franchises.

Warb Null and the Quest for the Infinity Gauntlet? He looks like he could use one. Even a Temporary Guantlet.
