They could still be around. It doesn't mean they have to be working for the main allience with Leia and the others. They could be off doing there own thing in a different part of the galaxy.
I have no problem with Sabine, Zeb and Hera being apart of the Alliance one way or another or still surviving and helping out but I do feel like at Kanan and Erza shouldn't be around, they might have Erza go into hiding in the final season or something but Kanan would become to much of a threat to the Empire and if the Inquistor can't get rid of them, Vader would. Main characters in Star Wars die all the time, don't be afraid to kill off Kanan just because it is on Disney.
I wouldn't be surprised at all, as much as I love his character that he would get killed off. And I'd rather Vader do it then the Inquisitor.
The interesting thing is going to be that they probably won't be mentioned in any of the post-ANH comics or novels. There is already a ton of material being announced there and there is sure to be a ton more before Rebels ends its run. With all that new material there will have to be a good justification for why none of the Ghost crew are around. It will also be interesting to see if none of the comics and novels during the OT are allowed to talk much about how the alliance was founded.
I honestly think that is what they'll do to bring Vader and his 501st into the fold. The Inquistor and Kallus can't bring down this "rebel cell" and their antics are getting out of hand and are making an impact against the Empire and around Season 3 Vader comes into play because it is time to bring in the big guns.
I'd like it to seem like they all go out in a blaze of glory but leave the door open just a tiny crack that some or maybe even all of them could have made it out. A scenario I'd like to see is the crew of the Ghost paying decoy for the real ship that has the Deathstar plans aboard it that are being taken to Princess Leia. The Ghost's crew would draw the attention and full might of the Empire on themselves just long enough for the other ship to get away.
As far as the non-Jedi go, they don't have to be dead to not be around the big three. It's not like every member of the Rebel Alliance gets to interact with Luke, Leia and Han.
New pictures of the Star Wars sets in 2015 have been released, including several new Rebels sets: AT-DP, Ezra's Speeder Bike, Imperial Troop Transport, TIE Advanced Prototype, and Wookiee Gunship. http://www.fbtb.net/2014/10/05/january-2015-lego-star-wars-images/ Spoiler That Inquisitor figure looks pretty awesome.I wonder when he'll get his helmet and shield in the show? http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/u...2/STAR-WARS-HERO-SERIES-INQUISITOR-AA8562.jpg
Spoiler I think we might see the helmet in the series. My bet is that we will see it at the same time we see this...
Or it is all just wishful thinking and the only thing that relates Rook and Sabine is the fact that they are not blonde-haired, blue-eyed Mandalorians. Keep in mind though....the original trilogy is a small group of people in a short period of time (for the stories told). And ANH has only one group of Rebels with Princess Leia as the leader....What about other cells or rebels under Mon Mothma, or Ackbar, or any other dissidents on any number of other planets. Also...the opening crawl of ANH says that rebel ships have won their first victory over the Empire...but all we see are the Tantive IV and X- and Y-Wings....really not thinking those limited number of ships won against an Imperial Fleet.
Chris0013 On your first point, of course this could all be wishful thinking. That is a lot of what speculation is. Next, on the to point about the Ghost crew during the OT. I completely agree that the non-Jedi member of the Ghost can exist during the OT without being mentioned in any of the canon that takes place during that time frame. Especially since that time frame is so narrowly focused on Luke, Leia, and Han. However, as more and more canon gets created during that era their absence might start to be a problem if Rebels depicts them as being central players in the formation of the alliance. In this new continuity conscious EU, different era's will preferably feel like they are naturally flowing into one another. If somebody is hugely important in one era they shouldn't be effectively forgotten in the next. Sure, not mentioning the Ghost crew may be a necessary evil in order to avoid spoiling Rebels. I just hope they find a good in-universe explanation for why they are no longer in the center of the action.
Yeah. I agree. I could even see Vader killing the Inquisitor off because of his lack of results as well. Then he steps up and starts to track down the Rebels with hopes of taking them out. Imagine if Vader actually killed Kanan off. Or even Zeb. That would be interesting. (Not that I have anything against those characters of course.) Yeah. I wouldn't be suprised if they did go down that route. Seeing what the ghost crew is up too in comic form/novel form after the show finish's airing would be nice. I'd like to see some aspects of their backstories featured in comics/novels to be honest. That would be a cool way to do it.
Maybe the Ghosts crew will go out the way Animorphs ended... Kanan: Ram the ship! -Super Star Destroyer in the Ghost's sights.- That's the last line and we're left to draw our own conclusions on if the Ghost's crew survived or more than likely are dead.
If they go down, they should A) all go down together B) go down getting the Death Star Plans I still hope the series finale of Rebels (Like, years from now) gives new meaning to Vader's "No one to stop us this time" in ANH
Why does the Ghost crew have to be anywhere near the rebel cell that involves the OT heroes? They could be on the entirely opposite side of the galaxy. Maybe they were part of the team (or the entire team) that stole the DS plans and sent them to Leia on the Tantive IV. Maybe they were stationed near the Tion Cluster when the OT heroes were on Hoth, Bespin, Dagobah. (if you have the essential atlas you will see how far away that is). Maybe they were part of a diversion to draw some of the Imperial Fleet away during the Battle of Endor. Maybe they never, ever, ever have any interaction whatsoever with the OT heroes at all. Maybe if they do meet them it would be after the Battle of Endor.
The tricky thing is that we obviously can't see the crew in the OT until Rebels is done. Hopefully that won't be for at least another 5 years. Of course we have no idea if the focus on the OT will be as heavy in 5 years as it is going to be in 2015. By the time the Ghost crew even has a chance to appear in the OT, that time frame might be pretty extensively filled up.
I hate to be the one to point out that the Tion Cluster and by extension the essential atlas are legends material.
Yes, but the type of legends material most likely to make it back in. Not to mention that point is moot. It's still a massive galaxy.
Hey even better and works perfectly with the ending I suggested. Holy controversy. Remember how they said alot of good people died to get those plans? "Ram the ship!"
