Maybe the new young lead is this new alien.

 

Possibly. Though that would likely mean it's not Andy Serkis. There seemed to be an older blue alien described in earlier reports. One that wears a turban and might be a teacher? It could be that Serkis plays the elder while someone like Andersen plays the young one that goes off on the adventure.

The height of this creature also interests me. The species could just in general be short. So when Serkis says he has a "small role" he might also be playing with words. Also the small dome like structures they built in the back of Pinewood look like they'd house a rather small group of creatures.

 

I agree. And I have to say I don´t mind the idea of a third lead being an alien. Chewie was barely a lead IMO. And a lead trio with a girl, a male, an exotic alien, and a little droid might work better than three humans. As we all know, the third member of the trio has always had less importance in the movie itself.

Pretty much. You just have to look at Guardians of the Galaxy. I have to say at some pointed I pictured the group made up by three leads, Chewie, R2 and 3PO.

 

Jason, I appreciate what you've been doing. You're taking your time to try to help people visualize an image only you've seen. You don't have to, you want to because you're a fan trying to help other fans. So thank you for that.

But honestly, if a lot people are getting the wrong impression from a description, it doesn't mean there's something wrong with their reading abilities. It means the act of someone trying describing a conceptual art for those who haven't seen it is inherently flawed and subject to confusion. So, given the perceptions based on earlier descriptions versus the actual images since released, recognizing that this confusion and subjectivity is present isn't a personal insult. It's just a fact of this situation. Thanks again.

She’s so cool in the painting, I’m not sure she actually needs saving.

and she has dirty blonde hair in the concept art, that seems more like a resemblance to Luke than Han/Leia.

 

Its concept art best not to read too much into it. Until u get to see some footage.

 

That character could be in some sort of parallel narrative. With Ridley/Boyega and crew in one narrative and the third lead in the other. Although, my guess is that third lead may not even become apparent until the end.

If you go by certain previous reports, Han Solo is your third lead(main character?)for this film.

 

I'm thinking Domhnall Gleeson is the third lead, but he doesn't join the group until later into the film. Adam Driver is a villain and Oscaar Isaac is a supporting role of some sort, or another villain.

 

Simple, Kira borrowed the Falcon from her Uncle/Father. Han had to stop flying when his eyesight got too poor.

 

Sorry, that's not what we do here. We make wild interpretations based on very little info then act as if it's 100% fact and freak out about it until the next rumor hits. Rinse repeat.

I think it would be most appropiate to say: "We hear rumors, we don´t like them, and we say they are just rumors even when things that prove them start to emerge".

 

If we can't tell they're a lead until the end of the film, they're really not one. In the next film, maybe, but not in this one.

More likely that there is just a lot of art, featuring the third, that we have yet to see.

Iger specifically said "new young" leads.

 

We have a very small sampling of concept art and just because we only have two of the three main leads in most of them doesn't mean the third one isn't in the majority of the film. In ANH Leia doesn't join the group until they reach the Death Star and in TPM Anakin doesn't join the group until they reach Tatooine so I'd bet money that this third lead whoever it is meets up with Boyega and Ridley later. Probably after they've left Tatooine.

 

I think it also should be said that Driver may not be a villain. I know what was said in the trades. But they are probably just taking whatever official line is coming from Lucasfilm/Disney.

It could be misdirection on their part.

 

I think most options are still on the table at this point. It's great!

 

And even if it was right, the trades stated he will be the new Vader. Which could mean he starts as a good guy, and that he is not the ultimate evil.

I do remember Driver saying(around the time of the casting announcement), in an interview, "Who saids I'm playing a villain? Don't believe everything you read on the internet."

I guess take it for what its worth.

 

Han is more important than Leia?

Padme less important than Kenobi in the TPM, even though she has more involvement in the story?

 

A big yes to both questions.

 

Regarding Han, do you mean more important to the story or just to fans?

 

If you listen to her speak she has a very deep and elegant voice similar to Leia in Episode IV.
