ST New Batch of Rumors from 4chan/Reddit ; "SpoilerMan Leak"

I'd take a 2nd return by Darth Maul over that overrated flop Boba Fett.

 

If they wanted Boba they could have just used Temuera Morrison and maybe aged him a bit. Boba would probably have been in his early to mid 30s during the OT. Morrison is 54, not much younger than what Boba would be now.

 

Completely agree. I think Fett is on the table as an option due to the cybernetic face implants & the fact that he's on Tatooine. I would however prefer a new character who was around during the events of the PT.

How about one of the Emperor's former Imperial guards? As soon as the Emperor fell he got the **** out of Dodge & hid in the outer rim. That would explain his former "connection" to the Sith while not being overtly a villain.

 

It's hard to know what to make of this. If I was forced to bet money, I'd bet he made this up based on known rumors. But I'll note that a few pieces of this seem vaguely similar to what "Kyle" said here in mid-October:

 

I am not buying for one second that the cyborg in those pictures (apparently in a Star Destroyer or other imperial ship in one picture) is not a main villain and a sith.

Also, this person claims that Adam Driver is the sith in the trailer wearing the same black robe and also sporting a cyborg face... and yet he is not the the same person from these pictures?

 

C'mon. Bringing characters back from the dead is just bad and lazy storytelling. Kasdan/Abrams, one hopes, are aspiring for something a little higher. If you bring Boba back, might as well have Klaatu there too just for ***** and giggles.

And doesn't even sound remotely like Temuera Morrison to boot. Morrison, with his Maori accent, bares no resemblance to Von Sydow and his resonating Swedish accent:





You'd be better off saying Shmi Skywalker survived and went into hiding following a sex change. At least the accents would work out.

This stuff sounds like a fanboy fever dream; just some dreadful fanfic.

You're right, there's some confusion & overlap between the concept art of the MvS character & the Sith or artifact collector. At some point they must have separated some of these concepts into two distinct characters.

 

Some much of what this guy says are all the rumors and speculations that have floated around for months. Though thinking about it, the Issac as Darklighter could be true, but not because he says it but because Isaac's character and Biggs seem to wear the same symbol on their helmets which could be a reference to Biggs. But anyone could have made that guess.

 

Even in the land of make believe, a light saber surviving 30 years--- in space--- is so totally ludicrous. Sounds like the kind of thing a first grader would make up. No way Kasdan/Abrams are going that route.

Not that one. Biggs did not have the Rebel symbol, he had a different symbol. Isaac wears it on the "cheek" of his helmet.

 

I don't agree. I've always found the idea of Fett surviving & blasting his way out of the Sarlacc as the easiest survival story to buy. He had his full armor & helmet on & his armor included an array of deadly weapons.

 

lol, this whole thread has become focused only on who Von Sydow is playing and most people are ignoring all other massive plot and character spoilers (if true of course).

 

Because Boba Fett raising Han's daughter is just too awesome.

The whole "Luke has a major reveal." One caught my eye. What could that be?

 

People are so dead set against an old character returning, and yet they seem to forget Lucas was the one to originally think of the ST outline. So if someone from the PT does return, it might not have anything to do with JJ and Kasdan.

Also, if the intention is to connect to the PT and for a good reason, then this argument about being unimaginative is really missing the point. As usual.

As for Boba, in no possible world can I see MVS pulling off Temeura Morrison's look -- even with an entire cybernetic head. The rest of his skin would also have to be covered. They look that different.

 

Things that grind my gears about these so called plot details...

1.Inquisitors...meh.double meh. I don't like them in rebels and I certainly won't like them in any future official SW movies....The biggest offender of being a retcon to the OT. Im supposed to believe these guys were running around thoughtout the OT and there wasn't one freaking mention of em....

2.No Peace time won from the battles fought throughout the OT.????...it's been constant war for 30-40 years.????..no cease fire or nothing. That sure makes my ROTJ ending feel like sh**. If this were true every time I watch that movie I'm going to be saying to myself wtf are you smiling for Han Luke and Leia....You got 30 to 40 years more of pain and anguish from seemingly endless war to go. I was willing to go with a cease fire/ Cold War type situation to give a ST a chance.....but a constant war since the end of ROTJ just cheapens the OT too much.

3. Another Fallen Padawan Story.....can't you come up with a better way for the big bad sith to have an apprentice???

 

Except if he has cybernetic implants as rumored, he could easily also have a mechanically altered voice due to his injuries. A slightly robotic version of MvS's voice could be pretty cool & would explain the change in accent.

Having said that I hope it's not Fett & is a new character.

 

I don't believe he (or whoever it is) would be "raising" Daisy. She likely went off on her own in her late teens like a lot of people do. It seems to me that would mean she was actually raised by her parents. I think MVS' character is a friend and mentor to her. But a parent? No.

 

So he could be a Darklighter. But it doesn't mean that this "spoilerman" has inside knowledge. He simply could have made a guess based on that image and he could be right because it is kinda random to have that symbol.
