i agree with all of this. . . especially 1. it's lame but these are all contingencies of keeping a billion dollar franchise alive. money is the only true force in the galaxy

Another thing that has me skeptical about these rumors is that a few people have said Lupita is playing an alien character now, so doesn't that mean she's not related to the elder alien and in fact is a Jedi?

 

So you don't think destroying the Death Star & a heap of Imperial ships & the death of Vader & the death of the Emperor is worthy of some drinks & celebration?? You must not be much fun at parties

 

No-one predicted Isaac as an alliance pilot...no-one! I love how this guy knows all this info after the fact.

 

That and the fact that Boyega and Lupita are automatically love interests. You know, because they're both black. *rolling my eyes* Not to say it isn't true but why wouldn't Boyega be a contender for Kira?

Haha. But seriously like others have said. Some of this stuff is well outlined. But for all we know it's just someone stringing together various rumors and hypotheses that are floating around in cyberspace.

Riiiiiiiight. An in that infinite vacuum, Luke's 11.5" saber hilt is discovered. This after somehow managing to escape Cloud City. There's far out fiction, then there's this plot device.

 

MVS as Boba Fett...? Good lord.

 

I think the most recent rumor is that - to the extent they find the lightsaber - it's part of the cargo of the fallen star destroyer, along with a bunch of other artifacts.

 

Ever heard of man-made space objects like saaaay...Voyagers 1 and 2? They have complex parts on them...and they're still functioning 3 decades later. A first grader, or I'll admit, a 3rd grader, would probably bring this fact up from their science textbook.

Oh, and another NASA spacecraft (International Cometary Explorer) was recently reactivated after being in space since 1978.

 

What if that rumor that the Boba Fett from the PT gets killed and is replaced by another are true, so the Boba Fett from the OT is not the one from the PT but the character in the OT became Fett so he is Fett. Which could explain how Von Sydow is playing Fett.

 

It is possible, the Cold War lasted 45 years.

 

But here's your problem... According to this rumor Sydow is:

a) An existing character from the prequel films, and the revelation of his identity will shock viewers.
b) Sydow's character is "not overtly" a villain, but has some sort of Sith connection.

Couple of problems:

1) The character allegedly has a "Sith connection." Fett's a bounty hunter, not a Sith.
2) "An existing character from the prequel films" is fairly specific, and indicates that it is a character that only appeared in the prequels.
3) For the revelation to "shock" viewers, the character has to be both fairly well known, and believed to be dead... otherwise it wouldn't be too shocking

So we are looking for a prequel character who has ties to the Sith, is fairly well known, and is presumed dead. Not a whole lot of options there

Sifo-Dyas is too obscure, as is Plagueis, so that leaves you with....

I don't like the lightsaber in space idea either but you're making some assumptions that may not be valid. I think the rumor was that the lightsaber was recovered by someone long ago & the ship that it was on board is destroyed in space near the planet the saber crashes on. Ridley &/or Boyega are supposed to be attracted to a wreckage from space & the saber is found amongst the debris. I think this rumor is being debunked a bit of late though.
