there were always those rumours that that was how the boba fett spinoff was going to happen, that someone else would don the helmet....or that it even happened prior to ESB (before Temuera's voice was dubbed in)...

but then there's also the theory that Boba killed Owen and Beru (a theory I happen to actually enjoy)

so yeah...the internet is a totally fun and enjoyable place to find reliable information...lol

I doubt there will be any attempt to darken a white actors skin to look Maori. And this is really the nail in the coffin of this theory, if you consider the historical implications.

 

I hope not... (Don't want to offend anyone with this comment) I hope these new films have no ties to the PT whatsoever...

 

Rebels is setting the groundwork for the new era of Star Wars and The Clone Wars (the PT era) has been referenced at least a couple times already. Get used to the fact that it could happen again. It is too big and too important to ignore.

I am the most disappointed with the MVS rumours I must say. If he is half cyborg etc they could get any actor to play that part. I had him pegged as a tarkin style imperial commander or the new Sith Master.

If the rumours are true about him then they MUST have hired him for a specific purpose (given his age...?)

Respect your opinion and all...but in mine I don't think anything happened in the PT that I didn't already know from the OT (Well -stuff that mattered anyway)

 

Having a bias against the PT probably isn't the best way of speculating accurately about the films.

While the OT will likely be more of an inspiration, the PT will always be part of the SW Saga.

Although I do expect midichlorians will be de-emphasized.

Still, this idea that the entire PT is worth avoiding is extreme.

 

Come on now, you know subjecting Han Luke and leia to a further 30-40 years of all out war after what they've already been through is some depressing crap....that makes you question what they really" won" during the OT.

 

I think with rumors like these we don't need to strictly adhere to every single detail. Often they contain alot of truth but not all. I agree that Fett isn't very likely however he does satisfy some of the conditions you've listed.

He can be considered a character from the PT.
This character being Fett would shock viewers, most of whom believe he died in RotJ.
As for a connection to the Sith, he & his father both worked for different Sith Lords. We may find out an even deeper connection via some upcoming material, whether that's Rebels or his spin off movie.

He was also on the same planet when we saw him last & it makes sense that he would've suffered some nasty injuries that may require cybernetics.

He doesn't fit the description perfectly, but pretty close.

 

Right... You mean besides things like:

• Anakin's mystery birth.
• How he came to be a Jedi.
• Palpatine's amazing manipulation of absolutely everyone in his rise to power.
• Padme (Luke and Leia's biological mom).
• The Birth of the Empire
• The fall of Anakin Skywalker

So the Boba Fett in the PT is not the Boba Fett that appears in the OT and would not be the Boba Fett that appears in the ST? You just made my brain explode, I hope you're happy.

 

I do agree with that. I hope we hear that they had some years of relative peace before war broke out again.

 

The fett solo movie would have to come out before ep 7 for that to even remotely work right....which isn't happening

 

There was probably a long lull. The "Awakens" part of the title sort of leads me to believe that things as a whole are heating up after a long lull.

That's not what these rumors in this thread are indicating...thus my grievance

 

Could be Wullf Yularen. Anakin was his commanding officer and as we saw in ANH, he was a high ranking Imperial Officer. Who's to say he didn't retire to "Tatooine" to pursue an old man's hobby of antique scavenging. The age difference could easily be fudged with the cybernetics.

 

Heating up in terms of the Force. Not necessarily in terms of galactic politics. You could be right though.

 

The rumor says the PT character will shock us. That seems like a short list. And that list mainly seems impossible.

I have to say I'm usually open to rumors, but this one seems problematic.

 

I'm not going to get drawn in here. I don't need any of that to know what's going on from a new hope onwards... And truth be told I love what little bits of info we get about the pt era from the original OT. Moving on...

 

Yep it's too hard to make any plausible character fit. Boba kind of fits the character description but not the casting of MvS.
