ST Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux) in Episode VII

If Plemons was up for Gleeson's role, I'm glad Gleeson got the part–I'm sure Plemons is a great actor, but he's a bit too "mean" looking for a Skywalker (though, I guess, as an Imperial Skywalker, he could've worked).

 

if you seriously can't see the potential for it then your the one that needs to spread there horizon.

Plemons does not fit the role, I've seen his acting numerous times and it gives me shivers when thinking he could have been Luke'son.

I hope Leanne Best is the mom. Although not the same coloring, her angular features fit with Gleeson.

She looks like she could pass for 45ish. How old is she? Granted, Luke would be a lot older but it would be same age difference almost as Han/Leia.

Wow. No disrespect to her, she's really attractive. But she has a more mature look, IMO.

Although I have had a hard time finding her age. It's not on her CV and she doesn't have a Wikipedia page. It redirects you to a different Leanne who IS 30 but it's not her.

You missed it a couple of days ago when the Han/Leia fans were fighting with the Luke fans over legacy characters. Today we're all in a friendship circle which, believe me, I prefer. I think the only ones not happy with the recent rumors are the non-legacy fans.

 

I'm really liking these rumors. Maybe they'll all turn out to be wrong, but until then, I'm gonna go with Domhnall as Luke's kid.

It would be a nice bit of symmetry if he saved the good guys while wearing an Imperial uniform and said, "I'm (name) Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you."

Me personally I always wanted at least 1 Skywalker (boy) and 1 Solo (girl) in the ST and based on current rumors it does seem to be the case.

 

I'll take the wait and see approach, but this news coming from MSW causes me to trust it a lot more than the usual online bs.

 

Me too! I really wanted Rey as a Solo and Gleeson as a Skywalker. When they were first cast, that's what I labeled them as such without reading anything. People can say Gleeson doesn't have top billing but I seriously am kind of jealous (as a big Han/Leia legacy fan) of Gleeson's role. Even though it may seem minor, I do think it's one of the most interesting characters if what has been spoiled turns out to be true. It's almost what I would have expected of Han's son. But the fact that it's Luke's son, I love it even more because it creates this juxtaposition of what we'd expect. I hope Luke is behind his defection because it makes Luke seem like he hasn't been shut off, but has kept his eyes on the ball the whole time. Or maybe he just taught his son really well.

 

I saw the legacy debate Tbqh, I thought there would be at least one additional Solo and another Skywalker added to the story since the sequel trilogy was announced

 

I hope they don´t come up with an absurd idea like a non-Force sensitve Skywalker or something like that. I am not expecting Dom to become the lead of this trilogy, sadly. But at least I hope he plays some crucial role. I think he might be the master of one of the leads. As I have said, Rey seems to end up with Luke but, what about Finn?

I would not be surprissed if they go this route to then have a new Skywalker leading the next trilogy, probably trained by Rey or Finn. Or who knows, maybe Luke dies and his son has to fight Serkis while Rey and Finn deal with Kylo Ren.

 

I think it's also a nod to the EU, and it can be intentional or not, since the two main legacy characters are Jaina Solo and Ben Skywalker. Not that those will remotely be their names (or storylines) in the ST. But I think the diehards who do read the EU deserve something.

 

I really dig the idea of Skywalker Jr. joining the Imperials as a double agent under Luke's direction, but I can also see him going rogue and doing it on his own, following his own conscience. That would be in line with Luke's own youthful maverick streak.

 

Yeah, considering his mission is to destroy superweapons no matter which side has them makes him a deeper character, and it also fits reports that Luke's Jedi order is not servants of the Rebellion like the old Jedi Order served the Republic-instead they are against injustice no matter who is responsible.

I also wonder if the reason Christie's character uses a lightsaber is because Gleeson trained her.
