Full Series Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)

Lothal being destroyed in the opener by Vader.
Zeb vs. Kallus.
The crew forcibly getting separated and having to do stuff.

No Maul in person but mentions are fine.

 

I want to see Madalore in the second season. Or at least see some Mandalorian's who are part of the Rebellion. Plus seeing Mandalore would be a great way to help show us Sabine's backstory.

I could see Lothal being destroyed in the first episode and then they have to move to other planets around the galaxy from then on because they don't have a home base anymore.

 

Season 2 looks like it will try to be a middle ground between a TFU style 'origin of the rebellion' story and the season 1 'random group of anti-imperials' story. It won't closely follow the central players of the rebellion, but it won't focus on a relatively irrelevant group either.

 

I'm really excited for Season 2! Especially now that the Ghost will probably be visiting new planets. Commander Sato and his crew look interesting! And it will be great to have more new, original characters in the mythos, especially now that we have 22 episodes to explore with them. Including the A-Wings is an interesting choice. I feel like they should have gone with Z-95 Headhunters, but I guess if these are really early prototype A-Wings it can work, and I'm really excited that it looks like we'll be getting some fighter squadron dynamics with some of the new pilot characters.

A little disappointed that Fulcrum is Ahsoka, although I kind of expected it. And I'm also a little disappointed that she still uses lightsabers, but I guess if they expect to bring Vader in the show, he needs someone competent to fight with, and seeing as how Ahsoka was his padawan, it makes sense that she could stand up to him. Karan and Ezra would be dead.

Still, I already can't wait for Season 2! Bring it on!

So begins the Galactic Civil War.

 

I would say that the events in the episode (other rebel cells appearing and Kallus' line to Tarking about rumblings of Mustafar) indicates as such that events are heading that direction. I look forward to the other rebel cells to becoming a more cohesive group that will go on to take the fight to the Empire.

 

I want more of the same. I've enjoyed Rebels a lot and I like how everything is set up now. So long as there's not an overabundance of filler, I think I'll be happy.

Unless they really just choose to ignore ANH, I don't think Lothal will be destroyed. But Filoni argued in the case of the Jedi Temple on Lothal that so long as the story is good, people will overlook the convenience. I'm pretty sure that's the same kind of logic used with Maul. And so I can Lothal getting leveled, even though it really shouldn't be.

Until the Death Star is built, the Empire cannot just go around leveling worlds. It has to keep the Senate happy. The Empire won't openly hold a Senator, and won't openly purchase ion disruptors. Why would the Empire openly level a planet? The Death Star removes the need for keeping the Senate happy, but that's 5 years away.

But I can see Filoni just leveling Lothal anyway.

 

Sheev can always make a speech claiming that the Rebels destroyed Lothal.

I think Lothal is rich in natural resources and strategic position to ever see the Empire just destroy it, they've already poured in lots of money and resources into industrializing it as it supposed to be important many years into the future of the Empire. If Tarkin is a deranged nutball, then sure he could destroy the planet in a fit of range and to cover up his own failures but that if it occurs wont be til the end. Lothal may even be liberated, or liberated and then destroyed - plus it depends on how important this planet remains to overall storyline as they seem to be moving past Lothal(either by shift in storygroup direction or larger budget based on success rate).

More Bail, elite Stormys, NO NEW JEDI ORDER, imperial officers from the OT, veteran pilots from Red Squadron not named Wedge, Naboo, Alderaan, Dantooine, Deathstar, No New Jedi order, familiar bounty hunters. Thats all id really like to read about in the 2nd season.

 

Among other things, I'm looking forward to seeing Hondo, the most interesting Weequay in the galaxy.

I somehow think it's appropriate if Ahsoka is around with the Ghost crew when he shows up.

Ahsoka: "Hondo?!"
Hondo: "Ahhhsoka, my dear. You are looking... different."
Kanan: "Ahem...I take it you two know each other?"
Ahsoka: "You could say that. I still haven't forgotten about the time you took me hostage, Hondo."
Hondo: "Rescued! You must mean the time that we rescued you and those little tiny Jedi of yours. At great expense, I might add!"
Kanan: "....."

 

I'd like to see:

- backstories on the entire Ghost crew, Ahsoka, and especially Kallus. I think there's a lot of potential for Kallus as a layered character. He can be the Ventress of Rebels.

- linking up with the different rebel cells, and them not always seeing eye-to-eye on how to fight the Empire.

 

I wanna see Embo. And Hondo mentioning something about his mom.

 

Lol I want to see Lando hit on Ahsoka XD.

 

Last time he did that, all it got him was a punch to the junk. Maybe he's learned his lesson (but probably not).
