We've had many portrayals of Grievous over the years, but which is the best? Feel free to rank them in your comment from favorite to least favorite.

    CW Microseries hands down.

People can moan and complain all they want about him being OP, he was way cooler and more intimidating. Lucas retconned Tartakovsky's work. Not the other way around.

He was way more like a PT Vader in the microseries, in other words he was terrifying.

Revenge of the Sith was bad portrayal as a typical Lucas throwaway villian, especially with all the hype we got prior, micro-series and tie in comics just bad watching his scenes unbearable. The Republic series and micro-series had the best portrayal of Grievous as a villain to be reckoned with. But the micro-series overpowered most characters so even that portrayal was somewhat outlandish to unintentional comical. TCW I think tried to implement both versions and probably best portrayal overall. My favorite Grievous storyline is from the short story from Visionaries, when he gets disfigured at the hands of Dooku and his scientists. The Clone Wars should've adapted the comic scene for scene for an episode.

He did beat Tano, she was no match for him. And she mostly fled and tried to distract him. I think you're more annoyed cause he was unable to kill her. Grievous was fine for what he was on TCW.

Usually I'd pick TCW over the microseries for just about every reason. But, Grievous was great in the microseries. I also love how the microseries explains why he has that cough. In current canon there is no longer an explanation for it.

At the beginning of TCW he was a former skilled warrior used to wipe Jedi out and lead the Separatist Army.
Then he slowly was growing stronger at the end of TCW and up to ROTS.
In ROTS he was simply outsmarted by Kenobi.

Kind of... It would of been much better if they portrayed the Mon Calamari jedi as competent, but they only portrayed him as foolish and reckless and that's the only reason Grievous struck him down.

If they hadn't made Grievous so strong in his second fight in the microseries he would have been perfect. The first fight I can understand how he could face 5 Jedi and win. They were all tired and had their entire army annihilated with only them being survivors. Their opponents had an army while they had 5 tired Jedi. Those conditions will throw off anyone's game. They second fight though would have worked better if he had overwhelmed the Jedi with more Magnaguards then came in for the kill when they were once again tired.

They need to bring back the micro series version of Grievous in future stories.

Microseries Grievous was the best in my opinion. TCW Grievous had a few moments where he was awesome, but his villain decay was complete when he was taken down by Gungans.

Microseries Grievous definitely would win based on pure entertainment value, but then there's also the pesky matter of his portrayal making sense with the films, and on that count microseries Grievous seems like a totally different character whereas TCW Grievous fits right in. So I have to vote TCW because I care more about the Star Wars saga functioning as a whole than pure entertainment value regardless of story coherence.

Microseries Grievous was by far the best he had so much potential in The 2008 Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith and they misused and abused the character *Sigh* waste of a villain in my opinion.

TCW, but I didn't think RotJ was bad either, simply because I stopped watching the microseries the first time it aired after the travesty they did to Windu, so I didn't develop ridiculously overblown expectations for Grievous. As far the microseries version itself goes: that's what I'd call a bad joke. Yeah yeah cool badass villain whatever. Except when the heroes are constantly shown being capbale of decimating thousands of droids single handedly, I find it ridiculously hard to believe that this one droid (I know cyborg, but it's a really irrelevant distinction when talking about microseries Grievous) would be capbale of stomping any ONE of them, let alone five, especially since two of them are supposed to be at least as powerful as Kit Fisto was shown to be. This is what I'd call a straight-up Villain Sue. Throw in my general detaste for anything Tartakovsky, and you got my second most hated Star Wars character ever (Durge is No1).

I thought the Gungan episode was good. Tarpals died taking down Grievous. Would make sense having Grievous particularly vulnerable to electro weapons as Grievous is more droid than organic.

I voted CW Micro series. LOE and ROTS novels are great too! Not sure about Republic comics. I haven't read many yet, but I'm working my way there.

I don't TCW Grevious or how many of the villains are portrayed in the series.

The question though is what is the "Best Grevious Presentation".

TCW version is a joke, I personally enjoyed the Microseries Power Levels although it probably resulted in the creation of Starkiller who I hate so there is that.

I agree. I can't believe people don't see this fight as one sided in Grievous's favor. Hell, I was actually scared for Ahsoka watching the fight. It's why I never understood the complaints lobbed against Grievous in the show. I always thought he came off suitably badass.

This. There's a huge difference between having a villain who can go toe-to-toe with badass warrior monks, and having a ludricrous God Mode-Villain Sue who can trash demigods he has no business even merely surviving against.

I don't think the more entertaining version is better than the version that fits with the rest of the saga.

Yes just like there is a gab between going toe to toe with warrior monks and not being able to roll a trainee.
