Full Series Ahsoka in Rebels

It was used heavily in Young Jedi Knights, by Brakiss and the Nightsisters, I recall that much.

And, around TPM, a "non-evil version" was introduced: Plo Koon's Electric Judgement, from the Jedi Power Battles game.

 

Considering Plo was in some ways Ahsoka's informal master...

In-universe, Force lightning is one of Vader's weaknesses. It would make sense that certain elements of the Rebellion may advocate its use against him...

I keep coming around to a similar feeling to jakobits:

It's not that at this point that anyone else can't use force lightning now, thanks to Lucas allowing Dooku to use it in AOTC, but that for me at least it identifies heavily with dark side force users. Specifically we have only seen Sith use it, minus Vader. I can't see Filoni wanting to let Ahsoka use Force lightning.

I'm not familiar with the game, but looking it up on Wookiepedia, I can't say that I am a fan of this idea. I'd rather them not use this material from legends as it muddies the water on what Jedi and Sith do force powers wise.

Personally, if they end up using electricity to out-maneuver Vader for a short period of time I'd rather them use something like a high-voltage junction box, a shock stick (I think we saw something like this in TCW?) but turned up a lot, or something like what the MagnaGuards used.

 

The only canon characters who have used Force Lighting are Sidious, Tyranus, The Son and Talzin(sort of).

They're all pretty dark characters.

 

Force Lightning I see as one of those things where it just can't be used in a 'good' way - a mind trick means you can let that poor hapless guard go on his way with limbs intact, the telekinesis can be used for defence, or just toned down to the extent to not destroying/hurting things, that kind of thing. Lightning though? That's just blowing **** up, basically. It's destructive and painful. It's bad. I wouldn't even restore 'Electric Judgment' to canon but given that it was apparently invented/discovered by Plo Koon of all people I can totally see Filoni trying to cram it in.

Like I said before Vader has the ability to use it but it would hurt him more than the target it would just kill him (Lightning would discharge the suit)

 

The truth is that we don't know anything about Vader and force lightning - other than the fact that he didn't use it yet in new canon. Parroting the old EU is useless, the new writers have already shown that they will change old plot points if they want.

 

Obviously that's based on EU writings that is light years (no pun intended) removed from the canon. Luke used force lightning?

 

I only count 4 people now. Sidious, Tyranus, Talzin and The Son.

Darth Maul? On the force-lightening list? How came that? He just know to fight it with his lightsaber.

 

IMO the only acceptable use of force lighting by Ahsoka would be a spur of the moment hail-Mary/ I’m-going-dark-side-on-your-a** situation. Ahsoka losing her cool for a moment would be interesting.

I like jabberwalkie idea of using a shock stick against Vader. Assuming there is a Rebel that last long enough against him to discover he has a weakness. (Filoni will nominate Ahsoka I‘m sure.) This could open up the possibility of the Rebels capturing Vader. Not a popular opinion, I know. But for those of you who don’t like the like the idea of Vader being captured would a situation where Vader allows himself to be captured (not without a fight, of course!) just so that he can deal a major blow to the Rebels once he escapes, be acceptable?

 

An EMP grenade might do a number on him.

 

The Phantom Menace game(1999). In the EU Jedi were using Force Lightning as well, Adi Gallia was using in the Jedi Starfighter(2002) game. Canon limits it to a few individuals now, but the list could be updated as add new stuff ect.

I'm not much of a gamer. But in my fanfic he will do too, when time is ripe.

 

I would prefer Maul use red or green lightning like the Son or Mother Talzin.

 

Not really bothered by Jaina using it. Anakin was killed, Jacen was captured, plus whoever else was killed on the mission. Grandchild of Anakin Skywalker. I can buy it.

Just watched the season 2 premiere and they were very careful with Ahsoka in this episode and in not letting her outshine the Ghost Crew. So much so that I think she was definitely underutilized. Hopefully her character gets more balance as the season progresses and with the way it ended I am sure she will. In this episode she didn't really seem to have the presence that a person in her position should have and I assume it was because they are trying to be careful with her at this point and not make people think she will be taking over the show.

The implication is that Emperor and Vader believe Tano will lead to other surviving Jedi and Vader mentions Kenobi in particular cause he wants his revenge
