I see it that way. Luke's sort of the big mystery of the film, and no doubt they'll probably have a stand in for Luke at his temple during its destruction since he is much younger and such than Hamill now, so they'll keep him hooded. I think ending the film with the camera revealing Luke would be a great ending, and would get more hype for Episode VIII and get fans excited for it.

It's marketing 101. Keep the mystery to get people excited and keep them on edge. Plus, this movie is already doing a great job selling itself without spoiling it with Luke. Forbes had an article about this and it pretty much nailed it.

People need to stop reading into his absence as some meaning that he's turned to the dark side, or that there is some crazy hidden plot. It's all a marketing technique and to keep at least some mystery to the movie.

Yeah, I figured it was supposed to mirror the camera spin we get after the first jump in ANH.

I would assume that's the navicomputer flying the ship..making sure it doesn't fly right through a star or bounce to close to a supernova, ending someone's trip real quick.

Falcon was flying straight in ANH, not spinning.

You guys think the movies going to open with the first shot of the trailer? The little holes in the panel that resemble space.

That was Star Trek's tag line. I think SW is still on "This ain't your dad's SW".

This trailer is the weakest of the three to me. The second one was the greatest of all.

I brought it up, not because I think that's what they'll do, just a possibility and, for me, a very interesting one. The question for fans is, will this bother you if true?

I agree that the second was the best. I think this trailer is way better than the first teaser though.

I'm honestly not sure if it would bother me. JJ already snuck the biggest lens flare in the history of lens flares into the trailer, so it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled it.

Bah, John Carpenter used bigger lens flares in the early 80s. Usually on car headlights. :p

Yeah I could see this being the case.

FWIW I think that's Finn's jacket. Doesn't mean that's Finn on the ground. But I'm confident it is the jacket. It has the raised stripe along the arm. Han's jacket has very smooth seams. (Also, I think there's a splash of red by Rey's hand, which would coincide with Finn's jacket; I also think it looks more like the color of Finn's jacket. However on these last two points I'll admit that it could just be my subjective view due to the lighting.)

Nothing will beat the Celebration trailer, IMO. I just think the build-up to it could never have been toppled by this trailer. I like the visuals of this trailer, but it didn't get me as excited as the Celebration trailer. That one was more for the fans and the fans alone (obviously a lot of that was to do with where it premiered). This one was for everyone else (which is understandable). It just looked and felt like a trailer for any other blockbuster. I said weeks ago that the thought of another trailer is somewhat anti-climactic. That's how it felt.

No, too much of a departure, even for me, and I've generally been in the "I'll go along with JJ," school of thought. If Star Wars doesn't start by panning away from a field of stars to some kind of ship I'll immediately be bummed.

My money is on the first shot being the small fleet of Imperial Transports heading to Jakku, with Kylo's in the center.
