I have so much left over candy and I was a good person myself. I let myself have my favourite raspberry gummies, but everything else I haven't touched. Stupid blood sugar problems.

You are a better person than I. I had 3 mini chocolate bars (but the insulin to cover it - my pancreas is already dead, so who cares). They actually say halloween servings aren't a horrible thing for people with diabetes to have around, since it's better to have like one mini bar once a day or whatever, than to go out, buy and eat a full bar.

That being said, I have no self control, so I'll do the right thing tomorrow and I'll go pawn it off on my brothers, because it is just WAAAY too much for me to justify keeping it in my cupboard for "low blood sugar".

Edit: although, going into a sugar coma isn't that bad of an option right now. The next-door neighbors are doing some REALLY BAD karaoke.

So glad we aren't having December exams. We are, however, having a class from 8-10/10:15/10:30/whenever we stop talking and remember that there's a new STAR WARS movie.

Another Halloween has come and gone, and once again we have ended up with huge surplus amounts of candy. For some reason our block seems to be unpopular with trick-or-treaters, maybe because it's up a hill, though there were plenty of them about (though mostly in the flatter parts of the neighborhood). Still, Findsboy and I had a good trick-or-treat excursion, and he filled his bag all the way to the top (though granted it isn't a very big bag). He was a kitty-cat. :)

    That is just so cute!

But now that Halloween is over, we can talk CHRISTMAS! It's okay, you can all kill me. I kinda want to die. I told my sister that my present for her and her boyfriend this year would be plane tickets back home (so they can basically have 2 more days here). Unfortunately, I didn't realize flying around Christmas was THREE TIMES more expensive. Ugh. My mom said I can forget about getting gifts for everyone else, if I fly them up here. I can afford it if I forget about the new wheelchair tires I was looking at (and saving my roommates' rent money for). So I guess it's better to give than receive (bah, adulting sucks). But I'm trying to decide if I should spend my travel rewards I've been saving for my grad trip and half the price, or just pay it all.

Which site are you using to get the tickets? Something like Kayak or SkyScanner? I used the latter a lot around holidays - it was really good because it was much cheaper than the airline sites.

Just through my visa travel awards. Unfortunately, with where they are coming from and here, there's only 3 options. However, Skyscanner is giving me a price ~$80 cheaper (but then using my $300 in rewards wouldn't be an option). I'll try Kayak. I've never heard of that one.

Yeah, but it's frowned upon to use mod powers for mundane things (plus deleting stuff messes with stuff apparently)

I hope you figure something out! :)

There's a helicopter searching the neighbourhood. I'm in the quietest subdivision ever, so that's really bizarre.

    They are after you!!!!! :p

Just looked at Kayak. Same prices. So, I guess I'm back to my original dilemma. To use my points or no?

Save those points and spend them on the grad trip as intended.

With the disclaimer that I've never actually purchased or seriously shopped for a plane ticket, I've heard that ticket prices can vary depending on the day of the week you purchase them. I think that maybe it was Tuesday (? don't hold me to that) that was said to be the cheapest day to purchase tickets on. So keep looking.

But I didn't do anything! *hides under the sofa*

I agree on saving the points. Ticket prices do usually drop during the week too. I would wait more than a week or two if the trip is in Christmas, though.
Air Canada has some good flights usually, they have a layover most times but they are usually cheaper on every site.

My sister won't know 100% till Tuesday what days she has off anyways, so I'll wait till then.

Oddly, I usually find Air Canada better, but Westjet seems to have the better prices for the dates.

Maybe I will save my points. I shall see.

This is what happens when you leap before you look...which is something that happened to me this past summer. Ended up having to cancel the trip due to how outrageous plane ticket prices have become.

A question to you people that go to comic and game conventions and similar were there is cosplay; how often do you see people cosplay European characters?

HA! I have to have three alarm clocks to make sure I wake up. Not because I will sleep through an alarm, but I want to make sure one clock goes off. I worry about forgetting to set the alarm or the power going off for one or the batteries dying for the other.

Characters that are European, or characters that were created by European creators?

Not that many, in both cases.

Characters who are from European comics, movies or similar*. Like Tintin, Spirou, Adèle Blanc-Sec, Yoko Tsuno, the Spider, Thunderbirds, etc.

    * Ignoring Dr. Who

I've seen Tintin since the film came out. I've also seen le Petit Prince, Thunderbirds, and Asterix. I mostly recognise the French ones and I know there are more that I'm not remembering right now. :p

I'm going to try to learn how to play Crusader Kings II today. This is going to be interesting. I started it once before and quickly got confused by what exactly I was supposed to be doing.

Start small. A lot of people recommend doing one of the many Irish counties at first to get your bearings before moving on to controlling duchies, kingdoms or empires. It's a lot of fun to play, though you'll frequently find your morals tested. It isn't jokingly called Baby Killing Simulator 2012 for nothing.

I started with Léon like the game recommended, but then I may try Ireland!

Baby Killing Simulator 2000 [face_rofl] I'll keep that in mind.

I really don't recommend starting in Spain if you're a beginner. The Muslims will eat you alive.

And, hey, whatever you can do to remain in power.

Not quite yet. My vassals are plotting against me, though, and I've had to plot to have two people assassinated already.

The nerve these people have. :p
