    That's right, Life Day! With the holidays coming...It's time to celebrate!
    Do not let Lucas and Disney deny it's canonicity.

    I've been for fun celebrating this day, theme, and the worst thing ever seen on tv, for years with friends.
    Although I've heard conflicting dates on when it should be "officially" celebrated.

    As the #date it aired - every Nov. 17?
    or
    As the day it aired - every Friday before Thanksgiving (this year would be Nov. 20)?

    Is there an "official" fandom date for this? I'd like to pay my proper respects, to Chewie, Malla, Itchy, Lumpy and all their Wookie family.

    Let us never forget! ;)

    Either way, a thread to commemorate!

    Sing along lyrics:

    We celebrate a day of peace,
    a day of harmony,
    a day of joy we all can share together joyously;
    a day that takes us through the darkness,
    a day that leads us into light,
    a day that makes us want to celebrate the light;
    a day that brings the promise that one day we'll be free...
    to live,
    to laugh,
    to dream,
    to grow,
    to trust,
    to love,
    to be!

    LOL!
    If nothing else "the worst thing ever seen on tv" did give us the first time anyone ever saw Boba Fett.

    Who contrary to the movies, which portrayed him as possibly the next most incompetent Bounty hunter after Greedo, here (although psychedelically animated) he was actually more of a badass, and justified why Vader would hire him.

    Battlefront: Elite Squadron had a special achievement for playing the game on Dec. 25.... and it was called Life Day

    There's your answer

    I've watched the Holiday Special sometime in late November for the past five years, and I'm getting excited to do it again. I think there's a lot to love about the HS, way more than just the Boba Fett cartoon, and I know there really are others who feel the same way. In fact, last year several of us on here had a little "Life Day" viewing of the HS, the first time for all but me. I won't name any names, but I know two at least came away fans. ;)

    I can't say I've ever "celebrated" Life Day other than by watching the HS. I've never baked Wookiee-ookiees or anything like that. Perhaps that will change if I can convert more of my friends. :p

    Anyway, time of year. I really think any time between November 17 and January 5 is appropriate for celebrating, as long as you do it.

    I think it's good to celebrate around the holidays any time, but if I could, I'd probably squish it in the beginning of December. That way, there's Thanksgiving, Life Day, and Christmas. Otherwise Thanksgiving is probably the day to go with.

    But the Holiday Special is amazing, and I watch it whenever I feel the need. :p

    Interesting, Not sure what Dec. 25 has to do with it, besides being another holiday? Seems like an odd choice, If anything it was closer to, and tied to Thanksgiving. Rather more like a precursor to it.

    Either the #date it aired - Nov. 17 or the day it aired - Friday before Thanksgiving seem to make more sense, and keeps it as it's own thing.

    Anyone else? :)

    I feel it's more a St. Lucia's Day analog than anything else. :p

    That's a really good point. December 13 is a good date as well.
