He's incredibly connected in that. It's a hard task asked of him to learn a new accent at such a young age in his first big movie like Awakens. He wasn't awful but there was a little bit of connection lacking and he struggled. I think this is why some might of found him annoying. He will grow into his American accent eventually.

Kiera Knightly still struggles with her American accent and she's been practicing for years. So it's not easy.

After watching the film a second time this morning, I am now convinced that Finn is Force sensitive, and will be a Jedi like Rey.

All of the clues are meant to be ambiguous, but here's what I think:

    1. When FN-2187's buddy falls in battle on Jakku, FN-2187 is visibly troubled by this. We know it's his "first battle" because he tells Rey that on the Falcon. This was the first time he ever witnessed someone die...he felt it in the Force. It troubled him not just to witness his friend die, but to feel his life force wink out.

    2. When the battle really starts getting fierce, and there are people dropping all around him, FN-2187 gets "dizzy" as shown by his staggering in a slightly shaky cam. He's feeling the death all around him in the Force.

    3. When the Stormtroopers follow the command to kill all the villagers, Finn doesn't do it. Not JUST because he's got a conscious, but because he feels their life forces in the Force.

    4. When Kylo stops in his tracks and stares FN-2187 down, he senses that FN-2187 is Force sensitive.

    5. When the Imperial officer tells Kylo that (either) the BB-8 droid escaped in a freighter (or that Poe escaped in a TIE fighter, I forget which he was reporting) with "some help" from "one of our own," he turns to some underling to give the order to investigate, but Kylo pauses, looks into the distance and says, "The trooper from the raid on Jakku. FN-2187" (or however he worded that. Kylo reached out with the Force. He felt Finn.

    6. Finn doesn't know who his parents are. There's a reason for that. One or both of them were Force sensitive.

    7. Finn overcame his stormtrooper "programming" where others did not...it's because he's Force sensitive.

After having watched the film for the second time, looking for evidence to refute this theory, I could find none. I strongly believe Finn, as well as Rey, is Force sensitive, and when Rey begins her training, Finn will follow suit. Maybe she'll teach him. Maybe she'll take him to Luke for Luke to teach him.

I was thinking about this FS stuff. What if he wakes from coma because of a force vision. Like he senses Rey or Poe are danger in the present or future. In turn waking him up.

I think this is all viable. My only quibble is with #6. Finn's parents don't need to be force-sensitive for him to be so. It helps, but it's not a necessary condition for him to be born one.

Some others have noted that Snoke does his "there's been an awakening" speech before Rey gets "activated." I need to see the movie a second time before I can speak to that though.

This. Once I finally saw the movie, I noticed all the hints you just highlighted. I think its all intentional on Disney's part.

Leading up to this movie the two biggest questions were "Is Finn force sensitive?" and "Who are Rey's parents?" Both of these questions still haven't been answered but there are definitely subtle hints(Maybe not so subtle in Rey's case).

Having multiple jedi instead of just one (or two if you count the teacher, luke) will be refreshing. I always thought more than one in the story would be better

I have a feeling that's where they will go with this also, many subtleties hinting finn is fs, he will probably explore more of the force in episode 8 imo, maybe coming out of the coma with a vision or something along those lines lol.

In pre release interviews both John and Daisy say they awaken something in each other when they meet. That doesn't necessarily mean the force, but with all the other evidence one could say that.

LucasFilms has made us flip back and forth over if he will be a person with enough midi-chlorians to be capable of controlling the force I am positive he has at least 7000 midi-chlorians.

A lot of stuff about Finn early in the movie seems like he's awakening to the force or adversely getting affected by all the death around him. Another moment like that happens when starkiller is fired

Don't get me wrong I LOVE Rey! Daisy Ridley is perfect! She's super tough, independent, but also feminie and emotional. HOWEVER I don't want it to be all about her! I like Finn, I think he's the new hero (more than Poe) that I'm interested in.

Adding to his possible force sensitivity, I also thought when he was watching Poe's "over the top" (for my tastes) piloting skills, he yells out "Thats on hell of pilot"! No granted he just saw a great pilot, but maybe he "felt", through the force, a familiarity of that pilot?

Not to say there can't be GREAT non-force sensitive characters (Han / Chewie / Lando, etc), but we have that in Poe. I think Finn and Rey will have a Anakin / Obi-wan type friendship (more equals than master / apprentice).

It'll be great to see another Jedi duo again.
