Oh, no, we won't... The script is already written so we can't change it anymore. The only thing I know is that in the case of stupid and boring storyline I will give up from SW forever.. Really. Just can't stand "not good enough" story. Just can't. :/

Great points Maz is indirectly telling Rey that her family is gone, so she's definitely not a Skywalker. She might be related to Obi wan or maybe they will bring up a new bloodline strong in the Force, which would be wonderful, otherwise we're gonna run out of Jedis... Well, the main point is Rey and Kylo would not be related but from Maz statements, they could have been together in their childhood which none of them remember... and when Maz says "there's someone who still can come back" I think she's referring to Luke since Rey just found his lightsaber and also the gun seemed to be waiting for her since when she touched it, it showed up her visions...

Anyway I strongly think there's gonna be a Rey&Kylo storyline because both of them are about to be trained, though in opposite sides of the Force, both of them are Force bonded, he wants her to side the Darkness and she, allegedly would want him to leave the Dark side and come back to his family or... kill him One way or another, there has to be balance in the Force, they will have to confront each other and... we'll see what happens. I have the feeling we're gonna see a lot of Rey&Kylo, Luke, Leia, B. del Toro and Snoke...

PS: Oh I agree on Luke being the new father figure for Rey and also, if she actually was training with him when she was a kid, she would be the only survivor of the group, along with Ben.

 

I heard Adam Driver said in an interview that he saw TFA for the first time with Daisy Ridley and Carrie Fisher, just the three of them (along with some guy who operated the equipment or something). I wonder if there's any significance to that. I may be reading too much into it, but I thought it was interesting.

I remember hearing that as well; I thought it was super cute. I think they were emotional support for him in a way because he's said that he hates watching himself on screen and generally avoids doing it. It didn't strike me as having anything to do with their character arcs at first. But you never know, maybe it was homework for their work together in ep VIII?

A lot of us are certainly hoping that both Rey and Leia be key in Ren's choice of path going forward.

 

I know, Adam Driver is sooo hard on himself! It frustrates me because he's so talented, but it also makes him more endearing (to me).

At first, I also didn't think too much of it either, but I started thinking (and hoping) that it may have something to do with their characters. I mean, there's no denying they're all connected (the characters). We just don't know exactly how yet...I swear, this speculating is driving me nuts.

 

How does Maz know that the Sabre belonged to Luke & Anakin? Does she know that Obi Wan Kenobi had it to?

 

Another question, now that Kylo has unlocked Rey's force powers... when Leia comes to meet her after she escaped Starkiller base, if Leia is her Mother wouldn't she sense it?

Im enjoying the topics here, especially about Maz's line... I think we haven't really disected that one thoroughly before....and this is one of the best evidence we have against Rey being Luke's daughter.... Maz is old old old... People her age just don't simply spew out irrelevant words about important things such as destiny or parentage, she wouldnt beat around the bush about these.sort of things... although of course Yoda was a different story with pretending to be someone else in ESB.... So whatever Maz says surely must hold water...as she seems to know more than she lets on about her knowledge of the Force...

Also on the Adam Driver viewingTFA with Daisy and Carrie...what if this is like a sort of bonding/chemistry building homework for them? Just probably one of the many days where he has to interact with the two of them as prep for future scenes together... Daisy and John sure did spend a lot of.time together for.their chemistry to work out as great as it did... John went food tripping with Harrison for some guy time...so maybe this might be something like that...

 

after i watched TFA for the first time, no spoilers cause i was in fiji for like a month without internet, and at the end it seemed like rey and kylo's story line would parallel one another and there would be two stories.one with luke, rey,kylo,snoke and possibly del toro's character dealing with all the dark side matters and then Finn, poe, leia dealing with the resistance, first order stuff along with phasma most likely going after finn. and then they may all end up meeting maybe in the 2nd or 3rd act

 

Maz is like Yoda, a mysterious and wise character who knows a lot of things... how did Maz know that Rey's family would never come back?

There's a bunch of stupid theories going around and this is one of them. There isn't any hint pointing at Han and Leia having a lost daughter somewhere, besides if that was true, what sort of parents have they been? They lose their son to the dark side and abandon his daughter in a dessert planet? For God's sake

 

Wow, welcome back! It's interesting that they might be trying to build chemistry between Adam and Daisy/Carrie. What could be going on with those three... hmmm....

 

Of course she would, so, it's obvious she's not her mother. And Reylo is possible.

 

I definitely think the way Adam Driver looks, his hair, his height, his mask removal was intentionally to make him look like the tall, dark haired handsome Prince type guy so Rey would be extra surprised at calling him a creature in a mask.
She even gets embarrassed for the insult in the book after Kylo Ren removes his mask, he says something like "so you are just a scavenger then" as if to say "that's all you are so" sarcastically in reference to her assuming he was a monster. He changes the subject when he senses her embarrassment of thinking he was a monster

Is it confirmed that she is not Mon Mothma?

I'd imagine someone would have to play Mon Mothma since she was Chancellor of the new republic at Chandrila after the fall of the empire, and in the Star Wars Aftermath, had the government demilitarized....a controversial decision that would have consequences later....so am sure she would appear in the trilogy at some point of time.

 

I was thinking about Unkar Plutt and WHY he simply didn't give Rey to the First Order? And we know that he has connections with them coz he knew about BB-8 and how important it was. So, does he know Reys real identity... ?

I've made a small list of things I want to see again to get some clarification.......I hope they add the deleted scenes also....

 

This makes sense....there is the war between the light and the dark side on one hand and the battle between the FO and the resistance on the other....one on the spiritual level, one on the physical....

 

I hope they add the scene with Kylo Ren going into the Millennium Falcon and sitting in the pilot seat. It's supposed to be reference to his childhood and such.
