ST The Romantic Future of Kylo Ren and Rey

Switching off his own weapon, Ren extended an arm toward the device lying in the snow. It twitched and then began to vibrate as the Force called to it. Stretching out his hand farther, straining, Ren beckoned powerfully—and the lightsaber rose, to come bulleting toward his outstretched fingers.
And past them.
Taken aback, he whirled—to see the weapon land in the hand of a girl standing by a tree. Rey appeared equally shocked that her reach for the device had exceeded his. She gazed down at the weapon now resting in her grip.
“It is you,” Ren murmured.
His words unsettled her: Not for the first time, he seemed to know more about her than she did about herself. But she had no time to ponder his comment, nor was she inclined to do so anyway; she was too consumed with rage. Holding the haft of the lightsaber in both hands, she ignited the beam—and charged.
Ren met her with his own weapon alight. Expecting weakness, he encountered only strength. Her skill with the device was raw at best, but it was backed by a fury that was as new to his experience as it was unexpected.

 

Some clarification:

Finn as a "janitor." It has been stated by several military personnel that sanitation is often one of many duties that the military personnel have. Finn did work in sanitation. He was a stormtrooper. He was not a janitor. He has never been called by that occupational title in the films. The use of that term is incorrect and baiting. Mod Squad has determined that the incorrect usage is not allowed.

The "r" word. It is considered a bit inflammatory. Mod Squad has asked that posters try to avoid that word.

"Virgin" as relates to Kylo. That is a debatable state for the character. What the actor has or has not done in other movies is not particularly relevant to what Kylo is or does.

Pyschopath. Definitely out of bounds if applied to a real person or poster. Probably any so-called "medical diagnosis" should be left to professionals, but it's an opinion of some. If overused or used in a baiting or inflammatory manner, it might well be mod-ified.

I'm willing to review the above, but I needed to jump in before anything got heated and so I may have missed a few posts in my haste to head off trouble.

Me too....I am hoping for all of the deleted scenes. I wonder they backed off on the release date announcement because of a change in the content of what they will be providing?

It's out on YouTube but there is a video showing some scenes before the special effects. The saber fight is still pretty cool.

Sigh. Even just reading about Kylo/Ben and Rey interacting makes me giddy and want MORE! (even if they are fighting!) ......I'm so deep into this ship that I'm pretty sure there is no going back; If they end up being related or Rey ending up with Finn I'll probably still enjoy it, but I'll always think of what could have been....

I've definitely gone to the dark side on this, and I'm not even ashamed

me too, the first time I watched tfa it was dubbed in italian, then I watched it in english... my memories overlap so I'm not sure
However, I asked to a couple of friends and they both agree that Kylo says:
"adesso siamo solo noi due" (= it's just the two of us now)

I'm dying to have the DVD in my greedy hands

We've dredged through a lot of interesting theories and information here about these two characters. If you want to hear about anything in particular, just ask and I'm sure we can give you some extra details. There is a LOT to discuss, and going through almost 600 pages of content would be impossible at this point xD

 

Speaking of deleted scenes, I mentioned before being surprised they cut the scene of Kylo in the MF and sitting in the pilot seat. Especially since Rey ends up piloting it so much...another example of how she has stepped in to so much of his former life...the MF, Han, Chewy, even the hug from Leia at the end. Would have been an interesting contrast.

 

Interesting paradox, I like it, its a shame it never made it to the film

 

Does anyone else think that the stabbing shot and the KOR shot might be from different scenes or are a chopped up version of a longer scene? When Ren stabs the guy, if you look closely he is wearing his hood and cape but then in the KOR shot he seems to be missing these. I don't know, it could just be my imagination but it came to mind when I saw that gif

Made the mistake of googling "Reylo." There are some deeply disturbing fantasies out there. Deeply disturbing...

 

Maybe he puts his hood on for killing people
But yeah....I thought so too....because he looked younger/thinner in the shot with KOR

 

Or is the person doing the stabbing Kylo? It looks like his saber but is it actually him?

 

Don't think so. It's the same rainy scene. Also, for those who think that the guy wasn't KoR - there should be 7 KoR + Kylo. After the stabbing, there are 6 KoR + Kylo. And the actor from GoT confirmed he played a KoR and his character description before the movie came out was KoR on IMDB.

I'm pretty convinced that the scene takes place on Luke's Planet Ireland. The rocky ground reminds me of it. But I could be wrong. Another thing, novelization says that the scene was lit by the fire from the buring TEMPLE. Luke is searching for the First Jedi TEMPLE. Hmmmmm.

 

Oh my god...

But on a more serious note, I think that it is Ren doing the stabbing. The real mind**** would be if the guy who dies is actually Del Toro's character. Unlikely, but it's fun to speculate

I honestly think that they will push at least the three male leads given that, John is well liked, Oscar will be coming off the X-man movie (and given he almost landed Dr. Strange we may see him be pulled up for another character there) and I would think given people's liking of Poe that he's got a shot to be seen. Adam is already a force in regard to how he stands out so every moment he's on screen will be used.

The one I think that will get the most time though will be Mark because of his character and now that we've established the others, we need to establish at least Rey's back story and Finn's since that's what JJ apparently cut out the most in the story.

 

I had a look at the slaying gif, and near the end there's a person in the top right corner who is dressed in black with a hood, and I'm pretty sure I saw a glint of metal where his face should be. Pretty sure it's Kylo.

I'm obviously using the wrong search engine because I've had to do a lot more than Google to find the finest Reylo filth! ;-)

 

So...seems we have experts in Reylo fanfic here....so what is out there and how is it different...lol?

 

It probably is because of how the moment plays out. I think the KoR were sent to take care of someone, or something, and they initiated Kylo there, maybe. It looks more and more like their weapons are charged with Kyber crystals as they have red bands on them, and, according to the cross section book, the FO has been stock piling Kyber Crystals so the KoR may not be a religious faction, but rather a different faction that is connected to the FO. I get the feeling that the KOR may have been designed to pull Ben into the cause, rather then them previously existing. Or at least they're a group that prior to getting a title were just a rag tag bunch.

Also I want to correct something I said before. More recently I learned that there are Red Kyber crystals and that they still exist, so Ben's is not synthetic as I first assumed. However, this then doesn't explain the core color being yellow and red as a cracked crystal shouldn't be happening naturally. Meaning either it was damaged at some point, there was some sort of fraction that happened while it was being placed into the chamber, or, and this is the weird one, the crack originated from Ben's own emotional state as the Crystals take on the emotions of the users and color them. So probably there's a chance that the light and dark side of him still caused the crystal to crack and be different colors. I don't think the meanings have changed though. Yellow does mean protection and is used by the Sentinal Class Jedi and the temple guards.

One other matter. I've been thinking about the idea of Rey being a Shan, and there is, at least, some hints that Kotor is more then likely being built upon, also the main ToR game does have the grandson of Bastila shan running around.

 

Fanfiction scares me O___O

 

Up front confession, I'm a writer of fanfiction, although I haven't posted any Reylo fanfics yet.

The Reylo stuff I've seen so far covers a wide range. If you're looking for kink, there's plenty of that. There's also quite a lot of fluffy AU emo Kylo highschool shenanigans. Honestly, there's probably something for every taste. There's a lot of badly written PWPs, but conversely, there's plenty of well written and well plotted stories that don't rely on adult material. As with every ship, Reylo has attracted a wide range of supporters who don't all interpret the potential for their relationship in the same way. It would be unfair to imply Reylo supporters are sexual deviants just because they like to flirt with the dark side! ;-)
