I would take his costume and weapon as a metaphor that he is an incomplete being who will become complete, but that doesn't necessarily mean his completion will involve what you're insinuating. What is Ren? The "perfect focal point of the Light and the Dark". He embraces the Darkness, yet he shuns the Light, his opposing half? This causes him actual physical and mental pain. It "tears him apart". I would say his "completion" could much more easily be represented when he embraces both sides of the Force, and in doing so both sides of himself. If one half is temperamental and incomplete—the Ren we've already met—then the opposing side we all know still lies within him would create the harmony he so desperately seeks.

Oh my god, that's amazing. 10/10 will watch again. Perfect Romeo & Juliet moment. Watching that make me realize that Ren's hair and high collar/neckline are rather "Elizabethan England." Not the socks though. Never the socks. Or the tiny shoes. Or the hat.

 

I think it effects Rey in a similar way, feeling all that hatred (her other half) must be tearing her apart too inside thats why she probably wants to destroy Ren at the moment.

I think we are right, there has to be some sort of balancing if these two are ever going to find peace.

Im wondering something, it's like they removed the connection moment where they did not see each other as enemies from the interrogation scene, I wonder if they decided to add this somewhere else more subtly? When the ground breaks, they are giving each other a look, like they have snapped out of something momentarily, neither of them have hatred in their face, it's like a "I don't want to leave you" look, its like two friends looking at each other with concern and it's like they are on the same side despite there being a huge gap between them now.

Whats more, I would not give the mother of someone I jus nearly murdered and hated a huge hug when I first meet her, its like Rey is regretting what happened to both Han and Ren

 

Yea she did look like "what have I done"! Or she had that face for sure. She was quickly breaking everything about him. Her stalking towards him while he backs away that is basically saying...."Rey is the villain in this moment"....
Ren looked like wtf @_@ damn girl! Seriously though, I didn't see any hate within his face at all when he was fighting Rey, or not even fighting, disarming her, or trying to protect himself. He saw the hate in her eyes when she opened them.

The "moment" in the interrogation was meant to be something between them and them alone, therefore I see no reason why they would have made it more obvious. It happens as soon as he starts to look into her mind. He reaches for her, she recoils, and bam! It happens. Still, it was something intimate that the audience really didn't need to see. We got the feeling anyway. I always find it fascinating that we "see" Rey's thoughts through Ren's description. It would have been more "normal" in a film to show flashes of the thoughts as Ren fished them, but nope. Their connection was so deep that the audience could only watch from afar. We didn't get to be involved, to see what Ren was seeing or feel what Rey was feeling. It was all between them.

 

I noticed that when he goes into her mind, Ren makes a noise like a sharp inhale of breath, which means he felt something there I think.

 

Someone said they heard a kid slamming a door yelling Noooo, I listened and didn't hear a single thing. Just the noise of the force pulsing

If you watch a good quality bootleg version where the sound is good, there is a kid screaming and the music turns dark just before he says "and Han Solo" where his face turns slightly repulsed. I also heard it in the cinema, its very subtle.

You know I just cranked it way up and it may not be a kid screaming, but there is definitely an echoing and high pitched noise right before he says that.

 

Ugh this little Stars Wars fan is so damn lucky!! Got to meet Daisy and the droids! And saw Oscar Isaac before. I want him to meet Kylo Ren!! Haha. Adam Driver hanging out with Jacob would make my heart melt!!

With all this Romeo and Juliet comparison, I sure hope that this wont be a tragedy!

 

Wasnt there a rumor(here?) that that cute little kid (Jacob Tremblay) could (or should) perhaps be appearing as little (flashback) Ben Solo in episode VIIl or did I imagine that? It is interesting that he's meeting all the SW actors, etc.

 

I doubt it will, someone said on Tumblr that one of the reasons she thinks Rey isn't a Skywalker, is because it won't create tension if she is. Stories need tension. Kylo Ren being the last of the family is their only hope "help me Obi-Wan Kenobi your my only hope".... Leia says this in ANH. Now Leia wants her son back home.
If Rey is a Skywalker, the family is saved and there is no reason story wise for tension. The tension comes when Kylo Ren is all that's left, it's up to him now to decide to go back home to his family, the stakes are high, the family is waiting. The saber called to Rey because I believe, Obi-Wan is channeling Rey to save the Skywalkers, like he did with Luke, to come with him to save Leia.
In the original trilogy the brother and sister were both good. Since the brother and sister story has been done it wouldn't make sense to repeat it. Either Kylo Ren is bad or he becomes good, it's the waiting for it to happen that creates the excitement. It's waiting for the day he sits in the Millennium Falcon and takes off that is thrilling.

Debra Messing had a pic of Adam Driver on her WhoSay account and Adam has a beard. Not sure how recent it is but a bearded Kylo?

I totally agree with all of what You say, it defuses the situation if she's a Skywalker and like I said before, its still redundant if it's all about the Skywalker line because she would be the last of it anyway, she's a woman and if she gets married the name will not continue, so what would be the point?


I agree about the Obi Wan thing, She is the carrier of that lightsaber much like Obi Wan was, I think her staff is her weapon and she may make a lightsaber out of it.

 

I think there could be a gray ending maybe.... Leaving room for speculation, sequels over the next year's, books etc.... It could be that but I don't see roses and flowers. Kylo Ren came from the party at the end of ROTJ, what I mean is the ending to that film was cut, final. No bad guy, everywhere there is a party, nothing is left to question. So to continue the story, someone had to have a kid and that kid is Han and Leias , so ending, I don't think anyone will die, that would be too sad, at least not the main characters...... I'd like Ben and Rey to leave together, PT ended tragically.
Anakin lost his love, they won't do that again. I don't think they will

I suppose a beard would be an interesting transformation...it could mean he grew up and matured or it could mean he went off the deep end and neglected his usual personal hygiene. I might associate it with going more dark side even?

I'm guessing they'll stick with no beard though. It'll put more emphasis on a probable scar.

 

I think others were mentioning that before, but I never looked it up. But...interesting thing I found out, Tremblay is doing a movie right now directed by Colin Trevorrow, so maybe the kid will have is in down that route lol.

 

Yeah, this is a bad photoshop by someone who ships Daisy and Adam (those Real Person Shippers scare me to be honest). No way Adam's ever going to present an award, he's not into that sort of public thing. Daisy presented with Dev Patel who had horrid long hair. maybe he tried to emulate Kylo's mane?
