If they carry this out like Revan and Bastila's story (minus the tragic downer ending), it’ll be epic. Their dynamic/romance is very much part of the story, that it just enhances the already compelling plot.

The connection between Kylo and Rey has already started out strong, the writers just have to take it to a whole new level.

Looking at some Rey and Kylo images...

Nobody can deny there are sparks between these two.

The top picture looks like this:

Actually I wasn't even aware of this particular trope before you brought it up... I wouldn't have found this if it isn't for you. :)

What I found really cool about this, is Revan falls under this category. If Kylo is the perfect embodiment of the light and dark and with Rey on her way to become one as well, I can see them doing great things together in the future. There's a risk that it could backfire on them, but their struggle to accomplish this will still be engaging to watch. Bringing balance to the force and to themselves, that is.

Hmm. His lightsabre seems to absorb the laser bolt rather than reflect it.

Just recalling what I said, if That's Obi Wan's grave/Memorial spot that Luke has created and is paying a visit to and in the next movie, Rey asks who's grave it is and Luke actually tells her about Obi Wan, who he was and what he did, then in the cinema i'll be jumping for joy internally because they would not even add that in unless something about Obi Wan is important for a future plot point. *cough* Rey *cough*

I'd also be jumping for joy because they would have chosen to put his grave here when Rey first meets Luke, which is a big indication of the relationship Rey is.

    But there are sparks.
There are sparks when they first meet and that is an undeniable fact.

Interesting. So does this mean that Rey and Kylo will be eternal enemies? Living to conflict with each other? Yin and Yang?

No, because balance is only found when they join together.

Exactly, and it would also be a interesting contarst to Kylo.he came from a legacy family which belongs to the Light(didn't Lor San tekka said soemthing to him about Kylo orginating from the light)while Rey comes from nothing but darkness .It would be sad but also poignant twist.

I like it. To defeat Snoke she must join with Kylo. But first she must show him the light.

Somewhat off topic, but, with almost 22,000 replies, this is the largest thread in the Episodes VIII & IX board.

Being originally from the TFA board, it would have been the 5th or 6th all time largest thread there, and the largest thread including only post movie discussion, not speculation before the movie. Had it stayed in the TFA board, it would be the single largest thread started after the movie came out.

People like to discuss the possibility of Rey and Kylo!
Of course this is not a popularity context, and many old time regulars don't come to this thread. And still... I think it's significant.
It's the single most interesting topic on these boards to have come out after The Force Awakens was released.

take into consideration the choice the Filmmakers used to make them dramatically split apart from eachother at the end of the movie, the earth literally rips them apart in an epic shot. Rey runs, (again) leaving Kylo to chase her (again) lol

This could indicate that now the new development between the two characters (after this epic ground split tearing them apart moment) will be them trying to find a balance with each other instead of fighting.

EDIT - why was the wrong post selected when i replied? so weird.

    MAZ
Dear child. I see your eyes. You already know the truth. Whomever you're waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But... there's someone who still could.

    REY
    Luke.

    MAZ
The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead.

Anybody with half a brain would have realized long ago that Rey Skywalker was 100% debunked in the movie itself. If we are to believe Maz Kanada, then Rey's "family"—whomever she was waiting for on Jakku—is never coming back. We know that Luke is coming back (heck, she finds him at the end of the movie). Not just that, but the "belonging" Rey seeks is ahead (presumably with Luke)? while her "family" is behind. The dialogue is so straight-forward, and yet people actually use this speech as evidence supporting Rey Skywalker? Huh?

Then there's the interesting implication surrounding the "someone who still could [come back]". Rey automatically assumes Maz is talking about Luke, but what great foreshadowing would it be if she was actually referring to Ben Solo—the individual Rey just had a Forceback all about, and whom she is mere seconds from meeting in the forest. The "belonging" Rey seeks is "ahead" indeed. And what is directly ahead? Kylo Ren, a.k.a. Ben Solo, a.k.a. the last Skywalker, a.k.a. the Legacy of two Trilogies and six films.

I think it's been debunked that there's a memorial stone there. It's part of the natural formation. Plus, there's this:

This is amazing! Bolded part - here's your (Noldor) Elf if there was ever one:

Tall, pale, hair like night, big ears. Yep, an Elf alright. Also, the scene was supposed to be babes in the woods meet a supernatural being (fairy, monster, witch), etc.

Also, eat your heart out Legolas:

So many great posts in this thread since I took a break, feel bad that I don't have enough time to comment in depth on many of them.

It's interesting because I aways took the earth splitting them apart as the Force preventing Rey from killing Kylo because its purpose is to bring them together but this is another interesting possibility.
The other thing that's interesting is that the script describes them as adversaries after they connection between them passes. If find the chocie of words here important, they call them adversaries(I know they're synonyms but feel like being enemies with someone is much more dangerous than adversaries)instead of enemies which is what they logically should be.

I can see it now. Angry with Luke for putting lies in her head she cries uncontrollably. Luke tells her he did it to protect her. She says she did not need protection she needed a father.she walks away. Later in the movie Luke meets her again. He tells her he was wrong to do what he did. He apoloigses and tells her he will never abadon her again. He promises to be the father he should have been to her. She jumps into her arms. It is all she needs from him.

FrolickingFizzgig I truly believe you have made valid points. 100% doubled over. It's sad that anyone can read your writings and not be turned. It really is. You've brought so much to this forum. I mean that.

Judging by the posters' membership dates, it looks like many people joined this forum to discuss Kylo and Rey. :p I tried to google Kylo and Rey once to see if there are other discussions about them, and this thread is undoubtedly one of the major results.

They also miss the cue about Maz giving her the lightsaber, which she will take to luke when she finds him (which is what she does)..that would indicate that Maz knows she's not his daughter but she knows that the lightsaber needs to be returned to it's master.

    EDIT - explained that badly^^

What I mean is she understand she needs to find Luke, then Maz tells her to take the saber (to him obviously) thats why it was calling because she's the one who needs to take it to it's rightful owner (if she's Obi's it fits perfectly with that quest)

Yes, but this video was made for the new EP8 teaser, and in there is no grave/random rock in that scene. I don't know what to think.
